For Whom The Bell Tolls
Author: @karinxxl
Curator: @artemislives - "...and never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." John Donne understood bells and the presence they herald, and I LOVE the way Karin has captured this across nations and religions. When we hear bells, be they temple bells or meditation bells, church bells or the old bells of the heralds shouting the latest news, bells call us to attention, Presence and awareness. A delightful post with lush images and a gentle, reflective quality.

βNope To The Popeβ β Protesting Institutionalized
Catholic Child Abuse in Ireland this Weekend!
Author: @eftnow
Curator: @riverflows - Responding to the 'Nope to the Pope' demonstration which aimed to say that the head of the Catholic church, Pope Francis, Jorge Mario Bergoglio is not welcome on Irish soil until at the very least he starts to address and rectify issues such as child abuse, corruption and taking children from mothers. He's giving his profit from this post to @familyprotection. Good on you @eftnow now - SMG is proud to have you as one of it's members.
The Thai Flower Tax
Author: @artemislives
Curator: @riverflows - I love the generosity of Steemfolk. They constantly amaze me with the beautiful things they do. Artemis talks about buying flowers off the flower sellers in Thailand, a kind of a 'flower tax', but they often hide them so they can buy more off the next seller because they know it's their livelihood and they are struggling because many of them are illegal workers seeking shelter from conflict along the Thai Burmese border. Selling flowers isn't a good job - it's hot, and dirty and they breath in car emissions. Artemis thinks the 'flower tax' is a small price to pay both for the loveliness of these small flower arrangements, but also to support people who need it most. What kindness people can show in SMG!
A New Dutch National Hero:
Maarten Van Der Weijden
Author: @verhp11
Curator: @karinxxl - Peters post on this Heroic attempt of our Dutch national pride was one straight to my heart. I also wrote about this earlier in the week because I find it such a gigantic beyond human attempt to swim more than 200 kms straight. The fact that he had to forfeit after 163 km doesnt even matter. Maarten van der Weijden raised 2,5 million euros for the benefit of cancer research and that is awesome!!

Actually it is my pleasure to highlight and present the work of the real backbone of steem - the content curators! I am trying to make regular curation part of my steem contribution, and my gratitude practice. :)
