Joe's Cancer Diagnosis and learning to live with Cancer.
Many of you know my husband Joe, has recently been diagnosed with big, scary Cancer. It's horrific news and for now seeams to be consuming every element of our life. I've done some venting and blurting, because it is so life impacting and also an awkward thing to discuss. I find writing about it therapeutic though, so bear with me.
I have no idea what an appropriate level of sharing online is for this situation, so this is likely an overshare and it still feels awkward and yet important to talk about it.
Stage 4
Joe's cancer is quite unusual, not so much in the type, but rather the spread.
They haven't been able to track down exactly where it originated, but they have identified a type. They assume it started in the lungs or neck, but there are no visible tumors there.
Since it started in one place and is now in his lymph nodes and head that gets an automatic Stage 4 diagnosis. Meaning Conventional Western Medicine does not foresee he will ever be Cancer Free.
People confuse that with being terminal. At this time there are no large tumors interfering with his organs. Stage 4 is acknowledging it has access to his entire body and there is no way to track where microscopic spots might be.
Prognosis Unknown
Since the spread is unusual and they determine Prognosis by statistics there is really nothing to go on here.
We don't know if he has had it for years and it hasn't taken root with large tumors or if it is a new illness with aggressive spread. Atypical spread makes it impossible to guess.
Our Plan and Actions
Today is his second Chemo treatment, the idea is to knock back cancer in his lymph node system to slow or stop the growth. That is really all that Western Medicine has to offer at this time. Chemo, Steroids, and Immunotherapy. We have already started this process and we need to do it to buy time.
We consider this the first step and are planning on an integrated approach, fortunately, natural medicine also has a lot to offer.
The work becomes learning how to LIVE with Cancer. There are 1000s of researched, evidence-based ways to make your body resistant to cancer.
The first step is to stop feeding it (sugar, simple carbs, processed foods) and feed your body the things it needs to fight it. This idea is documented in Radical Remission, but those who understands it knows it is not a fast thing. It is a series of actions meant for repairing and re-training your body to fight cancer and many are living happily and comfortably with cancer for a decade or more. The solution includes diet, exercise, restoring sleep patterns as well as mental health and outlook. All geared at lowering inflammation and restoring the body's natural healing process. There are thousands who have managed to become cancer-free and thousands more who hold cancer at bay for decades. This is researched and documented and backed by scientific study, for some reason few talk about the relationship between sugar, simple carbs, and cancer.
Due to the lack of large tumors and Joe's good health, we are really hopeful the first rounds of chemo will be effective and we will continue to seek knowledge and health.
We will know more about his prognosis when they check at 12 weeks to see if the cancer is regressing or growing.
It's one day at a time situation and all prayers, healing thoughts, and good wishes are appreciated. This literally imploded every part of the life we had 8 weeks ago. From daily routines, finances, health, and all of our life plans.
To say it's been a huge shock is an understatement and we are just now able to try to regroup after the rush of diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Hi @whatsup although we haven't been great friends let me tell you that if I missed you at the blockchain, a few days ago I was wondering what happened to you.
And reading this publication I found the answer, I always thought you were a man now I see you have a husband.
You can still be a man with a husband, hehehe continued with the uncertainty of your gender but it is already clear that you are married.
Anyway, I want you to know that I prayed for the recovery of your husband's health and for the strength and unity of your family.
All those who have survived cancer say the same thing, it is an emotional disease and they beat it more with their minds than with medicine.
That is why I recommend that you read a book written by a cancer survivor, she is a very famous actress, producer and businesswoman in Venezuela called Daniel Bascope. She gave me the book on my birthday. I wanted to read it for years and it came from the author herself.
I can send it to you in the mail, but it is in Spanish, it is a matter of translating it, maybe you can get it in English.
The title of the book is Vencer y Vivir.
Author: Daniela Bascope.
Send me the mail if you want me to send you the book. This person was on the verge of death and her recovery is almost miraculous. Now she is happily married and is the mother of a beautiful baby.
I don't know her personally, I'm her follower. Without further ado, I send you a hug whether you are male or female 🤭☺️😘.
I will check it out and thank you very much for your thoughts.
I'm sorry you and your hubby are going through this. 💚
I'm hearing more and more these days it seems, about rare cancers. I lost a brother to one 4 years ago. The type was so rare, only about 12 other cases had been diagnosed in the world before him. So few cases, that there was no history on any treatment that might be helpful. They still tried some chemo anyway, just on the chance. One of the biggest ironies to me was that the chemo was supposed to try to fight the cancer, but it also destroyed the body's natural immune system too, which meant that the chemo wasn't fighting it and at the same time, neither could his body fight it anymore. I couldn't wrap my mind around that exactly and sometimes wondered if he would have lived longer without the chemo. There is no answer to that question though.
So... .I believe doing everything by diet and exercise and anything else good for his body is certainly the great way to address it. I do hope you find something that works.
Never give up hope ! Many people DO recover !
It's true that doctors don't know the outcome.
Smoked chicken and peanut butter kept me alive. Chemo changes your taste allot!
Went from 78kg (healthy weight) to below 50kg in 3-4months. I wouldn't make Christmas bla bla.. 🤣
I took a bunch of natural stuff
-chlorella
-spirulina
-fish oil
-amandel nut
-Brazil nut
-high vitamin c doses
-anything that claimed to have a reasonable anti oxidant claim i took.
Needed 5 operations, new hip, steel right upper thigh bone, bunch of removals.
Made an extremely fast and complete recovery.
I'm sure your husband can do it too if he has the will power
Thanks for sharing
With cancer, you will be bombarded with DIY treatments, literally everyone's an expert and I hate to pile on, but I have heard a lot of good things about the fermented diets.
I was recently diagnosed with an untreatable version of Intracranial Hypertension which is causing blindness and hearing loss, so, I'm basically turning into Helen Keller, which is scary as hell, but I'm very optimistic. So, with mind over matter, I doubt it will get much worse.
I'm glad that writing helps you, I've always found it to be the best therapy too.
Anyways, good luck!
I agree fermented is a great part of the healing process and Science backs it up
So sad to hear this. My thoughts and well wishes go out to you and your husband. I'll be hoping for the best for you and yours!
Thanks dood!
This is though. But I believe you’re on the right track with diet. Good luck fighting the big scary C.
Thanks Rosa!
Sorry to hear this and will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Hoping for nothing but good results for your husband and that the doctors find exactly what they need to do.
I'm really sorry to hear that you're going through this. I mentioned before that I just moved back home where I grew up and one of the first things I was immediately confronted with is my closest cousin, someone more like a brother and best friend was diagnosed with Cancer. Also stage 3 or 4 and he has several large tumors. We don't have all biopsy results back yet so the full prognosis can't really be done, but so far it's sort of been bad news after bad news. He's only 37 years old, has three children and one of them(the youngest) is autistic and has special needs.
It's been a lot to deal with so I feel your pain. I hope everything works out for your family and wish you all the best.
I'm sorry to hear about this after just reading your other post. I really hope the chemo helps and sending you well wishes.
I did similar research in to natural medicine when my dad was diagnosed a few years ago and a few common themes I found was what you mentioned to give the body what it needs to fight it. This culminated in the common theme of having a diet that makes the pH of the body more alkaline as according to what I was reading, the research generally concluded that cancer cells can't survive in an alkaline environment.
The cells thrive in acidic environment which is caused by eating the things you mentioned.
I didn't go much further regarding the effects of exercise or additional factors but that was something I found.
Take care
Thanks! At this time we are looking at everything
Attitude is key. More people are beating cancer than before. I’ve lost a few loved ones to it myself and in the end they had all given up and went quickly once the depression set in.
I have a friend with stage 4 colon cancer who is fighting hard. He has made his peace and is ready to go, but he has a very positive attitude and seems to be improving, thought not by much.
I hope this turns out well for Joe. I know it’s hard to face this every day, but even if he doesn’t show it he needs you to be strong too. At any rate, it seems like you have a good handle on it.
Agreed, attitude is really important.
I'm sorry to hear about the diagnosis! I am going to come back later to read this more when I have time, dropping a quick comment so I have it on my mind.
Really sorry for hearing this. According to my religion I wish Triple Gems Bless Him & will be cured soon. Stay strong & wish to hear a good news about Joe's health condition soon.@whatsup,
Thanks
I am really sorry, i can't imagine what you both are going through. Sending love ❤️
Sorry to hear yall going through this. I have heard good things about strict diets helping. Hope for the best for yall!

May god give all the strength to you and your family to get out of it soon. It's tough, but with patience, I hope, things will get well over time.
