Photos of Benefitial Predator Insects on my Cannabis Plants including a Wasp that eats pests like flower destroying caterpillars + cannabis crickets that seem to be cleaning my plants, + Lemon Tree fruiting, flowers and more!

in #cannabis7 years ago

I found out that helpful Wasps (or is it a hornet?) protect my cannabis plants as my little caterpillar killer flying drones and literally fly around the plant eating bugs that eat the plant! I used to not like these insects for obvious reasons but NOW since my friend told me how these wasps literally clean my plants flowers from pests I LOVE seeing these wasps around! The small black wasps are really good too and can really get in there and eat all the small caterpillars that burrow into the freakin flower nug eating them from inside out and ruining your plants so any insect to kill those nug eating caterpillars gets an A in my book! I was lucky to capture this wasp right it landed on top of my Purple urkle cannabis plant!

Very strange how I go from not liking hornets wasps and spiders and now I'm in love with them and all insect predators who help humans like house cats joined human society helping us get rid of mice and rodents eating our grain and other food supplies! Also whenever i water the backyard, the wasps are attracted to the water spray thinking its rain, and they immiedtaly fly to the newly wet mud on the ground and begin collecting small clumps to go build their nest! I have respect for them and understand their intelligence, and am grateful for their free service of protcting my Cannabis plants from pests that can ruin them! Anyways for anyone interested in getting these clones (if your in San Diego, CA) I got all of these cannabis strains as rooted live clones ready to plant from Harbor Collective San Diego, check their menu out on Weedmaps here! https://weedmaps.com/dispensaries/harbor-collective-2-2 Here are some photos of me in front of the Cannabis Clone collection! Only $15 each!

And a bonus photo of me in front of the cabinet full of Wax! (The $100 4 grams of Skywalker OG lasted me 23 days....and I usually get 6 grams of Blue Dream for $100 but they were out!)

Another beneficial insect, what a steemit user @writewords has dubbed the Canna-Cricket, first showed up last year when I first had outdoor cannabis plants, and now I notice them always walking around the tops of the cannabis plants, and I asked steemit what this was but mostly wantd to show of the accidentally perfect shot I was able to get of this guy since he was right under the bright glow lights!

https://steemit.com/cannabis/@ackza/mystery-bug-i-found-on-my-707-headband-plantlast-year-and-i-ran-into-the-same-bug-a-few-days-ago-anyone-know-what-it-is

And last night here was over 5 of them all on the top of one plant, and I only see them eating tiny things on the plant leaves and NEVER the leaves themselves, so I am pretty sure they are cleaning my plants of pests that must be feeding on the plant and sugars and trichomes it produces etc, right? i'd love to know if anyone knows what species this is and if they really are beneficial.

You can really see them in the top photo hanging off the leaves! I honestly don't ever see them eating any leaves at all, and they're all just eating aphids or something small maybe eggs, they just look so cool too with stripes and lots of different colors on their bodies! And they move SO slow! they have hind jumping legs and look like crickets, but they move like a sloth slowly feeling around with their antennae!

So here are some more photos of my Cannabis Plants out there, THC Bomb, Purple Urkle, 707 headband and Chemdawg 4 and I'm grateful for them all and the cannabis breeders in Humboldt who basically genetically engineered these strains to be this good! You definitely won't find a wild cannabis strain that can perform this well! People worked very hard in a labor of love to almost "design" and breed these amazing strains!

Chemdawg4 in the front right, THC Bomb in the back right, and on the left are 707headband and Purple Urkle

Heres a shot of just the THC Bomb

Another shot of the THC Bomb

Closeup of the top of the THC Bomb with backlit leaves from the sunlight!

Top Shot of the THC Bomb, you can see how it is flowering now, i will check my photos for dates but I believe its only been 2 weeks since its begun to flower? I will get back to steemit with that so I can make sure to accurately keep track!

Here's 4 plants i don't give as much attention, and I need to move them to the area with moe sunlight as you can see they aren't getting nearly as big as the plants which receive more sun everyday and dont have the canopy blocking the afternoon sun, shit I better really move those soon! But its a Green Crack, a Fire OG, and Gorilla Glue and a Master Yoda I believe, need to go double check :D I honestly like having the problem of not remembering which strains are which because of having such a variety, Im glad I didnt just buy all the same strain!

And then here is more of the plant the canna crickets were hanging out on!

And more shots of the THC Bomb plant, looks like 3 plants from this angle!

even More shots of the THC Bomb, its just so photogenic! I'm so happy to be able to share the experience of this plant and its growth with you all! I love these plants and I spend a lot of time with them everyday almost like therapy! But it comes so naturally to us all to care for and maintain plants!

Another shot of the THC Bomb plant to try and get the whole plant in a nww perspective to show you more of it at once:

And here is a nearby tree at the neighbors yard, its full of pink flowers!

And here is a jasmine vine I bought for my mom years and years ago, needs to be planted from its pot now, and its flowering very good smelling flowers that look SO geometrically complex! How did this flower end up looking like this??

Also another plant I MUST transplant into a bigger pot or just into the ground wherever we can actually find some sun, is this lemon tree which has the BEST smelling flowers maybe even up there with my Brugmansia datura angel trumpet flowers OR even the most incredible aroma from the San pedro/Peruvian Torch San Pedro Mescaline cactus flowers which women in south america make perfume out of!

This Lemon tree has so many little tiny lemons forming after the flowers were pollinated by plenty of bees! (oh yeah there are so many bees here its nice to see after all that bee death talk! I am interested in knowing if bees can make THC honey if they grab pollen from male cannabis plants? I gus that pollen doesnt have much THC from the males)

This plant looks a little like my Ayahuasca aka P. Viridis aka Chacruna plant that makes DMT in the leaves, and that P viridis is related to the coffee plant, same family, but this one is probably not that close but looks south american or tropical perhaps, definitely not native to san diego as I can tell this is a plant native to a region that gets more water than the desert can provide and its only growing because of irrigation (Watering it manually, not counting on natural rain)

Another shot of its leavs reaching for the san diego summer sun similar to the cannabis leaves on the THC bomb reaching up

And here's a shot of the Moon overlooking my backyard with some bamboo in the shot and a view of the Canopy which keeps my treehouse cool and oxygen rich!

Ok that seems like a good place to conclude this session! I hope you all enjoyed these photos of beneficial insects for my cannabis plants and I hope no beginners think you must post cannabis plants to make money hre, ANY gardening photos will work! People enjoy any interesting looking plants, but all biological life seems to do well on steemit! And if you have some gardening steemit posts you'd like me to check out to see if I'd like to upvote, please leave the link PLUS the photo of your garden or plants or insects and I'll be happy to upvote it! But please don't just post a link without at least one of the images from the post! This will ensure you are adding value to the experience of this steemit post and it's also a tactic that can help you ethically promote your own posts when they are relevant because an interesting relevant photo will make someone actually interested in the post! Anyway Thanks again steemit and I'll leave you with this last photo of me in the tropical bamboo filled backyard, I'm wearing the steemit shirt @tytran sent me and the sun is blasting the camera at the perfect spot!

I kid, I KID !!!

I am completely pro- for both medicinal and recreational. It's the cigarettes and sugar I'd like to kick (already defeated the booze).

I too enjoy the benefits of planting, often cloning neighborhood plants and then sticking them randomly around town after a few transplants (when they are nice and strong).

I'll admit I skimmed most of the text in anticipation of the next pic, yet will give it a solid reading right away.
Was wondering, have you ever given Liberty Haze a shot? From what I hear, it's high thc & cbd content (in addition to it's amazingly short grow time) make it a prize for both medical and recreational use.
Even the stems get covered in sticky crystals after only a short time under the 12/12. Something I would really like to witness. But alas, no bueno (I visited Denver just after it was first passed for medical use, and knew a guy).

Wow i love you post and you weed i will post some of my cannabis plant on my post good job men.

Ladies and gentlemen: Cannabis Honey!

Spread it on toast, relieve hangovers, apply on cuts and burns, moisturise skin, it's a great treat!

P.S. the nectar and pollen gathered from the cannabis flower has no THC or CBD lol
