Over the years and having run into health problems I decided to turn to Cannabis in my mid twenties. I kept it hidden for years as the province I live in the majority of the population has a very negative view on it. Here's my issue on this. Why can people consume alcohol and harder drugs but Cannabis is frowned upon. I've thought about this subject numerous times. Why if there is proven research on the benefits? Why do doctors provide prescription drugs over a plant?
We all have seen the problems with opioids, pain killers, anti depression etc. Why is our society so backwards and again a simple plant? Big Pharma companies are receiving millions of dollars from our government in creating this harm to people. Why do we listen and let this happen? Why do cancer patients listen to doctors who basically kill you with chemo and radiation?
For years our older generation was told that doctors are the only ones that know what they are doing when it comes to our bodies. They have also been told that marijuana is bad. There are more bad symptoms then good. Treating it like hard drugs including Herion, Cocaine, Acid etc. Why have we been so close minded and against a simple plant that has zero side affects and caused no deaths in history?
As we are finishing the year 2017 we have heard noise about our Canadian government legalizing marijuana in July of 2018. This will be an amazing time if we can really show everyone the benefits. Personally as the Government promised legalization as soon as they were in power. I myself want this to happen but I am still very skeptical on how this can just happen. The infrastructure and retail chain that legalization will need won't just happen instantly.
