A resort in Haliburton is going to become the first cannabis-friendly hotel located in Ontario, Canada.

Many cannabis smokers will know that a great deal of hotels today ban smoking in their rooms, although there are a variety of bed and breakfasts and other venues that have sprung up in recent years who are looking to cater to the cannabis crowd. Still, there is a great need for more cannabis-friendly lodging so that cannabis-users can travel with peace of mind, without having to scramble to find somewhere that will let them medicate in peace.

Sir Sam’s Inn & Spa

In Haliburton County, there is a luxury vacation venue near Eagle Lake that is expected to become the first cannabis-friendly hotel in the country. This will be a resort and spa location that is going to allow users to smoke right there onsite.

This spa venue has been around for years, but they will be upgrading to become a new cannabis-friendly venue. They've already signed up with a popular cannabis travel site, HotelCannabis.com, that helps individuals locate cannabis-friendly accomodations. At the spa hotel venue, guests will be allowed to consume cannabis either on their balconies or at designated outdoor areas.

As cannabis continues to be accepted in a growing number of areas, the demand is going to continue to grow for people who will be looking for accomodations that will let them medicate in peace.

Competition Coming Soon

They won't be the only ones for long, as other entrepreneurs also have plans to introduce their own pro-cannabis hotel venues as well.

One of those individuals, C. Floyd, is already in the process of turning an old hotel in Ontario into a cannabis-friendly hotel that will be called The Pink Elephant. This all-inclusive hotel, which will be located in Niagara Falls, and they have plants to give every guest a sample of cannabis as a part of their room rental.

You can find few other cannabis-friendly accommodations that have also offered samples and cannabis-themed welcome baskets as well.

The plan is for the Pink Elephant Inn to be open later this year and it will have at least 37 rooms, a pizzeria, and a pool.

They also plan to have a grow operation on site where guests will be alowed to interact with the grower and ask questions about cannabis and the growing process etc. They are also looking at hosting a variety of cannabis markets, food truck events, and possibly car shows.
