The Most Expensive Weed In The World

in #cannabis7 years ago

The drug war continues around the world today, with various law enforcement agencies still heavily dedicated to policing cannabis and other drugs.

Despite their efforts though, millions of people still struggle with their drug addictions and you can still find drugs available in a myriad of places, even behind bars. In other words, the state has failed to achieve their objective.

And in trying to achieve their goal, they've prevented sick people from being able to access something that might be able to improve their quality of living. They have also fueled an incredible amount of violence; the drug war has cost tens of thousands of people their lives. And thousands have also lost their lives due to drug overdoses. Prohibition, by no surprise, still doesn't work.

Some countries and different regions have moved forward with legalization efforts for cannabis, though you can still find many where it is prohibited.

Countries where they still have very strict laws in place against cannabis are places like Thailand, Ukraine, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Saudi Arabia.

Where Is The Most Expensive Weed To Be Found?....

according to data that was collected by the UNODC, Tokyo has the most expensive weed in the world and it's estimated to cost around $32 per gram.

You can find cannabis all around the world, even in places where it's still highly restricted. In South Korea it's also estimated to cost around $32 per gram, in Hong Kong, China it's about $29.65 per gram, and Beijing, China, about $20.52 per gram.

Those are some of the cities with the highest prices, along with areas like Dublin, Shanghai, Oslo, and Bangkok.

And where can you find it to be the cheapest? According to the same data, it's less than $5 per gram in areas like Jakarta, Indonesia, Panama City, Panama, Quito, Ecuador, New Delhi, India, and Antwerp, Belgium.

Interestingly, you can find areas that are listed both on the cheap and expensive list that are either dealing with partial legality, or full illegality.

In places like Indonesia and Kazakhstan it's still seen as being heavily restricted and illegal, and yet they've got some of the lowest prices according to the data from the UNODC.

What Cities Consume The Most Weed?

New York takes first place when it comes to which cities have the highest weed consumption.

The cannabis in that area sells for around $10.76 per gram. Followed by New York, areas with the highest consumption were Karachi, Pakistan, New Delhi, India, Los Angeles, USA, Cairo, Egypt, Mumbai, India, London, UK, Chicago, USA, Moscow, Russia, and Toronto, Canada.

Despite the billions that have been spent trying to police the choices that people make about what goes into their body, drugs are still widely available. And the war on drugs has frequently been criticized for having helped to fuel political corruption, mass incarceration, and for promoting an endless cycle of crime, among other problems.

In some areas cannabis has been legalized for recreational use,... in others it's legalized for possession only but illegal if caught selling,... other places have medicinal use permitted only,... or legalized research purposes strictly, it's still highly controlled and unnecessary regulated in many ways. And that comes as a detriment to the people because there is a great deal of benefit that this plant has to offer.

The U.S. drug war has actually created the place where weed is the most expensive that I know of. In prisons all across the United States, completely walled off and 'controlled' a gram of weed can still be obtained. It will cost you though. 50$ a gram and higher. Even in jail's that are supposed to be completely controlled environments. Drugs are still obtainable. That to me shows the obvious failure of the drug war and banning things in general!

Very correct. Officers sells to prisoner to keep their check balanced. I hope this act stops soon

Here in Oregon we have to qualify for the most pot smoked!

....Maybe....
I live in Humboldt up here in Northern California.
There have been many a bowl smoked here lol

Population eats pounds that's why Portland imports more weed... From north Cali, and southern Oregon.

In all areas of life the prohibition is not the solution, human beings have incorporated that the word NO means to do it, say no to a child and you will see how it does the opposite.
The solution is evident Education. Well-used education will always be better than prohibition. There is a slogan that says Hard with the system, soft with people.
thank you very much dear friend @doitvoluntarily for sharing all these indices of prices and consumptions.
I wish you a great day

I think this idea of yours will do the job. Good one

Man, I could grow like a MOFO in these places and make a killing $32g....Shit man I dont pay anymore, but if I did it would be like $5g. or enough trim to make some BOMB ASS Browines

DRUG WAR ALWAYS WAS WERE AND WILL BE A COWSHIT!

New York is such a densely populated city i wonder if that skews the statistics any

Word man very true, and you can do big time in Jail if caught with a gram of weed in Tokyo pretty crazy!

wow in China about $29.65 per gram it's such an expensive one. bu t maybe in some other places, the price is higher.

I must be some rich ass drug dealers in Tokyo. Damn $32

Going price on Australia is usually 25 a gram...well last time I bought some...that was over 2 years ago

Keep up the good work. This situation is and always has been ludicrous particularly when the 2 most dangerous drugs, alcohol and tobacco, are freely available and heavily taxed. Up voted and followed.

Interesting. I wouldn't have guessed Tokyo. I have only been to the airport of Japan, but would love to visit there eventually.

Hopefully it'll be the same price everywhere eventually, free to those that grow it.

Thanks for the post.

Here in NYC we pay 50-60$ for good quaility weed . In this we get 3.5 grams . I went to paksitan and it’s SOO cheap , but their quaility lacks

Thanks for introducing us to cannabis. This is obviously agreat writing.
I will wait for your upcoming post.
Thanks @Resteeem & follow done.

Wow!
Drugs are really sensitive topics.
Weeds have its own advantages and disadvantages..

I never knew that tokyo has the most expensive weed.

This is an eye opening

Lemme go and read about weed self.

Thanks for sharing @doitvoluntarily

I live in California with the brand new recreational legal cannabis. Sadly due to taxes now an eighth of the primo bud can put you back 80$!!!! For an eighth!! I fear the black market will take advantage of this severe tax. All the old medical recs are now also not good for the 20% tax break... you have to get a new state approved medical license.... for roughly 180$ then... then you can buy cannabis with just sales tax.... . My point? California is not far behind is high priced too!! ....thanks for the post. I follow all 420 Friendly steemers. I’m looking for a few follows myself. https://steemit.com/@jitterbugg
thanks again

Yeah Washington had a 86% tax on cannabis? It was crazy. A fraction of those taxes went to roads and schools. And started a war for patients rights!

very timely post dear @doitvoluntarily 👍

I hree with you that most of the governments are really trying hard to fight against illegal drugs as they call it , i would actually agree on those other types of drugs which is not really good for health ,

Buy with this one , the weed , it said to be tjat this actually cures some illness and that a lot of people are trying to have this legalized . actually some are found to have their own plantation

Now i also know that Tokyo is where you'll find the most expensive weed.

Stayawesome @doitvoluntarily ❤️❤️❤️

wicked, we need global relegalization !

we must compact eradicate drugs, especially from government agencies, gradually stage we punish the severe severe punishment of drugs

Fenomenal, muy buena información amigo @jlufer, definitivamente este es un flagelo que golpea la sociedad y lo sigue haciendo, gracias por compartir, saludos

amazing post,,thanks for sharing

Excellent info, lots I didn't know, this is about to end...the needless nightmare of being in fear of feeling good...happy, free to be....in my dream....its almost here...
The centralized control consciousness is being hit by so many decentralized ideas that it seems they haven't the
Energy to steal more energy...
Because more people are seeing that being free to be...is where what should be, becomes what is.....sooner than we think.
great post.

Being born in New york and currently living in South korea - I can confirm the prices and how its really looked down upon here in asia countries much more than western parts.

and it was $50 per g - which is outragous

Yes, we have plenty of them in Indonesia. Aceh the well known place for the origin the weed. we called it GANJA. And this is a very big business in dark market.

In Africa, some government officials are caught up in this, owning a farm of weed and mounting security there to secure the farm. Heard it more expensive in tokyo

go new york!!!!!

It is so unbalanced right now. The markets are isolated to where monopolies are being built in each state. Only companies that can take the loss are surviving. It is wild that in contrast people are getting arrested still and making huge amounts of money. Such an interesting time we are in. I have a feeling in the next couple of years things are going to change!

I think it's totally stupid. Sooner or later the governments of the world must accept their legalization and their free consumption, but even more so that there are medicinal uses that come from the weed. Simply respect who wants to consume or not to the best style of Uruguay, country pioneer in this subject. It is a subject debatable with pro and against but it is becoming something more normal every day.

Go Amsterdam, you'll be premium prices for average products

You remind me a story on my flight- a young Japanese girl looked pale and sick during the flight. Her tummy was big with her skinny body and she sweated all the time. She couldn’t move easily too. There was a guy always stayed with her even went to washroom, but they didn’t look like couple at all. At the end of the flight the girl barely could walk and she stayed in the plane for wheelchair. My Japanese crew said recently so many news about illegal drugs transfered by human body from one country to next country for saving the cost. I don’t know if this is a real situation in Japan but we were informed that both of them were arrested by local police.

The war on drugs is and always has been an absolute failure. Time to end it.

Traipsing around Mexico for the past week and a half, I've been thinking a lot about the drug war in the U.S. People who want stricter immigration rules generally cite drug related crime from Mexico as one of their top reasons, but it's the drug war that creates these criminal elements in the first place. And this doesn't only affect the United States--it has an even more deleterious impact on Mexico. The drug war has made cannabis, cocaine, and other substances so profitable that cartels engaged in drug trafficking from Mexico into the states have literally been able to take over the government.

Mexico isn't as dangerous as they like to say on the news. It's a beautiful country full of kind people. Still, nearly everywhere you go you can see evidence of cartel activity if you pay close attention. It infuriates me to think that my tax dollars have helped create this situation.

As you can see, the ban does not solve the problem. You need to eliminate the cause of drug addiction, not the drug itself, I think. We need more information about the consequences of missing out on schools and social networks. In order for a child is aware of what he is, becoming a drug addict. No need to romanticize drug addiction in feature films, music, art. On the contrary, there should be an unwritten law that creative people show drug addiction without embellishment, in its horrifying and destructive form. The ban won't solve anything. Forbidden fruit is always especially sweet. Especially for teenagers. After all, most often the first drug use occurs in adolescence.

Everyone should be allowed to grow their own medicine. And there is nothing more effective (and efficient) than growing a plant or two of cannabis in your backyard.

Awesome post! I invite you to visit our blog and vote us back! And of course to enjoy our content :)

Indonesia is also country where they still have very strict laws in place against cannabis are places
