The fact that you can't grow weed in the GARDEN STATE is a travesty!
Well, guess what? Even if The Garden State legalizes weed via the legislation they put forward today, citizens there would still be prohibited from growing their own cannabis. Crazy, right?
I'm one of those people that thinks any legalization is better than prohibition, and since there's still a lot of people living under prohibition, it seems like we've still got a ways to go. At least the momentum is picking up! It's very disappointing to see legalization be so restrictive, though. Despite a steady rise in public support for the legalization of cannabis, public opinion and people are less in-the-dark regarding the truth about cannabis, it seems like there are still irrational fears plaguing peoples' perception. There are no ridiculous rules about the number of bottles of vodka a person can purchase, but just one could probably kill someone. I could buy $60,000 worth of hard liquor and have it delivered to my house if I really wanted to and no one would stop me, except my friends or loved ones who might be concerned that I was wasting $60,000.
The measure to legalize the adult use of recreational cannabis (click to read in full) was introduced by Democratic state Senator Nicholas Scutari on Tuesday. The legislation would set limited of one ounce of good old fashioned dried flower cannabis, 16 ounces of what they've called marijuana-infused products in solid form, 72 ounces in liquid form, and seven grams of concentrates. As I mentioned, home cultivation would still be illegal (because God forbid you provide your own medicine or recreation), and consuming cannabis in public would also be illegal.
So they're cool with you getting high, but you can't stock up on weed, and can't take advantage of bulk pricing while also having a variety of strains on hand, because the whole world would obviously come crashing down if you did that. Also, do it in private, and don't plant any of it in your basement.
Thank you
