In 1937 "marijuana" was declared a dangerous illegal drug.
BUT, on October 7, 2003 The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human Services applied for a patent on Cannabis even though the Federal Government continues to claim Cannabis is an illegal drug. Besides the fact that I find it somewhat bizarre that ANYONE can obtain a patent on a plant that has been on this earth for literally thousands of years. I am finding myself questioning their motives and their agenda.
Obviously the U.S. Government did not 'invent' the Cannabis Plant:

The US Government Patent on Cannabis clearly states the medical benefits of this Sacred Plant:
Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidoil, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention.

If we follow the logic of intellectual property, this is theft, by government, of property that has been in the public domain since the beginning of it's existence.
The government of the United States, supposedly, it's power arises by consent of governed. This implies that they are filing patents for those governed. Plants originating from nature, belong to nature, they belong to those governed, and those not governed. Patents filed by government are, at least, theft, by the government, from those not governed.
Patenting something that already exists, that the patenter did not invent, Is fraud.
This reminds me of the patents the CDC holds on diseases.
I'm almost certain that I can come up with a way to charge those who patent life, with war crimes, or crimes against humanity. I must think on this.

I think if we start to hold these people accountable for the BIG crimes, the rest will start to examine the amounts of power they are grabbing.

and it's a DIRECT Contradiction from being a schedule #1 drug… having NO medical benefit etc. etc. etc. This B.S. is yet another reason to DISBAND the gov. it is a viable option we must at least consider….
I'm still not sure that everyone could do without a government. The less capable among us may run amok without the pretense of authority's control, not that this should make any difference to those of us who can handle responsibility for our lives.
i imagine hitting a reset button in my mind… so we start from scratch with minimal governing…. local courts for grievances, etc. but imagine a society focused on Peace and Liberty.. a "live and let live" Morality that is promoted, instead of the Hatred and distrust; instead of continually validating the need for this War or that War, we COULD have a Society that continually validates the need for Tolerance, liberty, and True Freedom; the underlying premise being Respect and dignity, compassion, and support for the needy .. We could do sooo much… We are capable of soooo much Goodness; all it takes is for people to see it..

Remember executive order 13603? Bama signed into law, by himself, bypassing every check and balance, a law stating that all water, power, food, plant, and person (slave labor) are property of the us federal gov. Not one court objected. Not one news agency reported it. When trump tried to enforce existing immigration laws with a similar executive order, 3 or 4 judges tried to say no. Some presidents are able to write any law, some are not.
I guess it matters which club you are in or what is being slid into place behind the scene. It is difficult to have faith in the system at all. Thank you for your comment and support.

i'm starting now to feel this blockchain stuff is not for me.. i only wanted some passive income for the family.. thought if i could just make a hundred bucks a month it would all be worth it... not sure anymore if it's worth it.. i got some good feedback on my writings, and some practice, i'm thinking about writing a fiction novel about a Holy warrior, a Paladin.. a story where righteousness overcomes Avarice and Aggression .. People need stories like that.. if we can't first imagine righteousness reigning then how will it ever come to pass?
I have felt the same way for some time. I am only on Steemit for an occasional quick check to see if anything has changed but I have not seen evidence of that. I find I will put a lot of effort into a post and get minimal feedback. It is disappointing for sure. It certainly would not supplement my income on social security.
I have been putting effort into speaking out in my community against injustice. Maybe it is time better spent like your fiction novel will be. In any case we should still stay in touch for support.
