I am so torn on this issue. I believe everyone should have access to clean high quality cannabis. What I have been seeing from states that have "legalized" so far is the little mom and pop growers being pushed out of business. This opens the door for large cultivation facilities where only people with large sums of money can participate in the industry. This is not and never will be good for the consumer.
I hope our government can come to a compromise with this newly regulated product. As a mom and pop sized producer myself, I want to be able to bring the quality product I am used to seeing to market for the masses.
Good luck Texas, keep it real down there!
Unfortunately in Texas, the cost of non refundable application to grow was 458k, and limited to 10 growers. That didn’t include any other fees just the application. The only growers in Texas are big farm money. But it’s ok because they are trying to grow for one patient type intractable epilepsy. This formula is a deliberate attempt to cause failure so that the state can keep taking application fees at almost half a million. This is why I am leaving my state to grow somewhere else.
