My grandma told me she would make a concoction of beer, ivory snow (the ivory dish soap)(not off-brand either), and plant fertilizer ( i believe she used miracle grow) to mist her plants she said it helped keep bugs off and helped them grow strong.. not sure if this would help. Also, she would plant things like marigold, basil, lemongrass and there are more, around the plant she wanted to protect as they detract pests if you see a bug on those plants it's usually a bug-eating bug or predator bug and are not there to harm it.

It looks a lot like my Uncle Harry... He was always invading cannabis fields, but usually only in the dead of night.
