Coconut Infused Cannabis Oil

Hey Everyone!

As a medical cannabis user, I vaporize my flowers and end up with a lot of AVB (Already Vaped Buds) which still contain some of the THC/CBD but have been stripped of most of the tasty terpenes. I like to take those AVB's and infuse the left over medicine into cannabis oil which I can use to make Vegan baked goods, or just use as a spread!

What you need

Your going to need a crock pot, coconut oil, some AVB's (or regular buds or trimmings), some cheese cloth and string, or coffee filters. First your going to want to put the coconut oil into the crock pot and turn it on low.

Once you have your oil melted down, it's time to add in our AVB's!

If you have cheese cloth you can wrap your AVB's in the cheese cloth before adding it to the oil. This will make it easier to separate the oil from the AVB's once we have fully infused the oil with our medicine. I didn't do that this time, and I'm not sure I will in the future, I use a hole lot of AVB's when I do this. So what I did was used coffee filters to pour the oil through into jars, and rung out.

Your going to want to leave the AVB's in crockpot on low for 8 to 12 hours. I find 8 is generally enough, make sure you stir the mix periodically. When your finished make sure you turn off the crockpot and let it cool for a bit before you pour it into a jar or container.

I wasn't able to get a photo while I did this, but I tied a coffee filter on the top of my jars and poured the oil into them. I am going to try cheese cloth next time because I feel this caused me to lose a lot of oil.

Here is our final product

It has a green tint to the oil.
