in #cannabis7 years ago

Vermont lawmakers approve a proposed cannabis bill that would decriminalize the possession & use of cannabis. Previous version of the bill included a no commercial sales of cannabis. They struggled last year to get the bill approved due to Gov. Phil Scott who vetoed the bill. He cited that it needed a few small revisions for his approval. The new bill was voted 81 to 63 in the Vermont House of Representatives.

Opponents of the bill , like GOP House leader Don turner who wanted to add legal cannabis sales to the bill proposed. The move was rejected, citing that it was seen as an attempt to blackmail the bill. If the new proposal becomes law, possession of up to one ounce would be legal. Growers & cultivators over the age of 21 would be allowed to have two mature plants.
