Arriving in Table Bay
A hundred and ten years ago everyone visiting Cape Town from overseas arrived by ship. They would have been thrilled at their first view of Table Mountain when entering the harbor. After a long sea voyage they would have been looking forward to setting foot on terra-firma and meeting family and friends at the dockside. To get to villages along the peninsula they would have travelled by train or carriage. Motor transport was only available to a select few later in the decade.
