During his primary campaign, Bernie Sanders waxed poetic about how the government needs to intervene in labor markets to boost worker wages. He also made a similar point about the government's need to provide free college education to every American. Fast forward, and these measures have essentially materialized - though it was the private secrtor that accomplished it, not the government. Amazon's company-wide minimum wage is $17, and they provide college education to their starting employees. To boot, they are also providing value to their customers in the form of convenience and lower prices. In a world where capitalism has accomplished so much, it begs credulity that people still cling to the tired arguements of the socialists.
