Some CGI photos of the coming Volkswagon ID R Pikes Peak prototype has been released. The electric 4WD is planned to compete in Pikes Peak in June. VW has not released any more details, but it sure looks cool.

The prototype will be driven, on June 28, by Romain Dumas, double winner of Pikes Peak in 2014 and 2017. I wish him the best, to beat Rhys Millen with an electric car with a time of 8m57 and better to beat the Loeb's record (always him) with the Peugeot 208 T16. Dumas will be able to beat the two records?
I have some doubts, would think it needed more testing. What do you think?
I don't know but with VW, I have some hopes at least to beat the electric car's record (but only CGI photos) . But better than the others projects like the Corbellati Missile or Aspark Owl... We'll see in June.
