What's the perfect career for you based on your abilities

in #career7 years ago

If in the previous post I talked about passion and money, I figured it would be perfect to also make a post about careers. Even though we all have talents or certain passions, clearly it isn’t easy to choose a path when it comes to the career.

I’m sure you all know, deep in your hearts, what you really want to do, but if you’re still not very sure, here’s a list of possible careers you could choose based on your talents, abilities and personality.

The one who always knows what to say

You might be extroverted, or you might even be impulsive. If you’re a confident person, who feels good being the center of attention, and you have great public speaking abilities, you cope well with stress and you’re very persuasive, here’s a few options for you: sales, tourism, marketing or PR.

The creative, romantic one

You’re a very creative, imaginative person. You’re attracted to activities that are not very structured, but they give you the possibility to express yourself. You are really calm and you are very good at expressing your feelings. You love books, music, and you remember every single thing in detail.

If you fall into this category, you should go for one of these career options: journalist, fashion designer, interior designer, editor, photographer, actor, architect.

The analyst

As a personality type, you could say you are introverted and far from eccentric. You love numbers, everything you do must be perfect and in order and you pay a lot of attention to details. When it comes to your desk or your working space, it’s probably super organized and clean.

Although you might lack originality in public speaking, you for sure are great with numbers and mathematics. Is that the case for you? Then, you should try to pursue a career like: accountant, cashier, PC operator, event organizer, financial analyst, or any administrative activity.

The one who loves to work with people

When it comes to passion, yours is interacting with people and helping them. Your friends and family say that you’re a very kind person. You’re always nice with people, almost too nice, and you love to work with them, listen to them, guide them through problems and help them in any way you can.

If you feel like this describes you perfectly, then here are some careers ideas for you: nurse, teacher, coach, psychologist or social worker.

The one who works with his hands a lot

This is the category for people who have technical abilities and an organized way of thinking. You like activities that involve using your hands, instruments or machines. You are very practical and you can focus on something without letting anything distract you.

That sounds a lot like you? Then here’s the list of careers that might be perfect for you: engineer, electrician, technician.

Did you recognize yourself in any of these descriptions? Keep in mind that you can always switch from one career path to another, as long as you do what you love and what you’re good at.

I wish picking a life long career was as cut and dry as this. Sure you can have an idea of your passion and what you are good at, but then having the privilege to be able to follow through is something that isn't readily available to everyone.

Thanks for post @jwolf.. I think I'm the creative one, dont know about the "romantic" aspect though, I'm a hair stylist and I love it

yea ahaha we can do the MBTI personality type test to sorta figure out which path suits us better.
But even as I say this, the personality test doesnt really work for me because my personality is always changing here and there.
Hope I can instead go on the path of a Full time Steemian and share my stories everyday instead ><

What the perfect career for you based on your abilities

This is a great discussion but personally I think being passionate is really important because it drives us to love what we do.
You can take on any career if your passionate about it.

Great post and it made me think a bit to which category I would fit.
I love people and want to help people so coaching would be perfect for me, but I just recently started teaching people how to take care of their health naturaly as a wellness advocate and I love it, and now I know why.

This is also why I love steemit, because of the amazing new friends I have made and how this community is all about helping and supporting.

I am probably a mix of a little bit of everything. When you build a startup at first you have to do everything by yourself..

indeed a very effective career counselling....yeah all of us are talented and have something different its all about discovering ourselves and taking right decisions in critical situations......good work

i am a service field engineer and give training to people who use our products

to the last point I would add a shoemaker) I am engaged in repairing shoes. in one of the posts I described the process of one of the types of repair

I recognized myself in a couple of these. Thanks for sharing.

Really eye catching topic! I'm thinking of becoming a teacher.

I would be The analyst for sure! Is the one who sounds more like me haha

Btw I sent you a message on the chat, I wanted to ask you something?

Multumesc pentru vot @jwolf. Apropo, interesant articol.

thanks very good post, I consider creative

I am currently studying Computer Science and Engineering only because I like Programming, Mathematics and technical stuff like Robotics.

Thank you.. It was helpful for me. But sometimes I see the one who have combined features with various personality. That makes me hard to decide what to do.. Have a good day, @jwolf! :D

Very illuminating post. Most people don't realize their potential until someone tells them.
