A unique yearly event to attend to is the famous Barranquilla' Carnival (northern Colombia, considered the best city nowadays).

Some of the events : Via 40, where the Battle of the Flowers, the Great Parade and the Great Fantasy Parade begin at 1pm; 17 Road for the King Momo Parade; 44 Road for the "La Guacherna" night parade; and Romelio Martinez Stadium for the Orchestras Festival and the crowning of the Carnival Queen, many verbenas, lots of traditional food, music and dancing. Public events are free.
As example, please watch the video below to admire in the Romelio Martinez Stadium a crowd of 50.000 people dancing, cheering and enjoying live El Gran Combo Orchestra from Puerto Rico, named "the University of Salsa" with a salsa hit at the time "Cupido" , yes, in spanish but the rhythm and feelings are so contagious, aren't they?
