Nothing makes you more Proud than seeing your Children Follow in Your footsteps!
Wayne has actually improved on me, most of mine had to be trailer'd Home! This one , we could at least tow?, despite the flat wheel.
Terrible to say, but Wayne, My Eldest has definitely inherited My Hoarders Instinct!
So Wayne finds this 2.2 Ford Ranger LDV with no motor , but a stripped down Ford Essex 3.0 litre V6 comes withit. We have all the Engineering done , Wayne gets Claudio to assemble and fit it, and retired Dad runs around collecting various bits.
In theory the motor has started and all mechanicals are fitted!
What I did not mention is it arrived with a lot of fiddly bits, missing, No Dip Stick, No Bracket to hold distributor in ( and set timing) No Fan Belt Tensioner adjuster ( I made one), No Radiator Cooling Fan, A whole lot of disconnected wiring , with no indication of where and what to connect! ( Have fun , Alan)
I made up a bracket to connect the accelerator cable!
Today, I have fitted a complete reconditioned , fully electronic Distributor ( Conversion by Distributor Remanufacturers, Germiston) Standard Item still has points!
You can see the tensioning device I made on the top of the Alternator!
Electronic bits for ignition! ( and some odd disconnected wiring)
You can see the new pointless Distributor with the cap off!
Below is why we had to purchase an Electric fuel Pump.
You are looking at the Power steering Pump, attached where the Standard Fuel Pump Bolts on!
Alfa Cooling Fans we had at home, now on the Ford!
More stray wiring!
You can see the Motor fits in with plenty of room!
The Ford Essex V6 came out originally in 1966 in the Ford Zephyr and Zodiac, they manufactured them in South Africa and the were still making them up to 2000 ( 1988 in the UK)
The Motor was originally designed to be both a Petrol and Diesel Unit and as such was massively over-engineered , very big bearings , con-rods , flat heads with the combustion chambers in the pistons.
Problem with this was internal friction ( later corrected a bit with 3.4) so very sensitive to correct cooling.
BTW , i think ,I was the first person to fit a V6 in a VW Beetle , 1968 as I recall ( see My Beetle Posts)
Ford never did the diesel ! However when Turbo's became Popular , because of the strength of the Block , you could run very high pressures without damage.
The reasons I am working on this, are:-
1)To assist Wayne ( he always helps me)
2)My Alfa GT Motor is not yet ready - https://steemit.com/life/@awgbibb/chronicles-of-alan-cars-alfa-romeo
- So I can use this while fixing up another Motor for this--https://steemit.com/cars/@awgbibb/you-can-t-always-get-what-you-want

If I were truly a rich man, I would not be working on cars!
I don't get the allusion to Sage Street and africaunited - You guys still upset about Trump and are now banding together? LOL
Sage Street , is where Chris and I are staying now, where I stayed when I met her, and was My Parents first owned House. When my Three Sisters and my Youngest Brother moved to the US , My Dad followed and sold Sage St to my Son Wayne.
The Gent who got me on to Steemit in the first place , asked several others and myself if we would like to join up in contributing to Africaunited, to get Cash together to invest in other Projects. I have reduced the amount I am posting on my own Page. , but resteeming some of these to try and increase the earnings for the group. Is Trump not a term used in Card Games?
ha ha, sounds like a good cause - Trump is a term used in card games, but in this game Trump is always the Knave
Clever! The Question is , Was he a Knave before he got into Politics?
Thanks advance me about the Please Join Us in Welcoming Sage Street's Latest arrival!
Excelente adaptación !

Once it is built up, do you have to apply to the police to get it licensed? That can be a huge process?

I pledge NEVER to make fun of anybody throughout rest of my life. (Although I never did so but I'll be extra cautious now)
A promise nobody could keep?, were other people not put on the Earth for our amusement?
atleast we can try.....
but u were so true in whatever u said... i cant agree more what u said...i am glad i met you here...
I could only make a promise to myself because nobody else would mingle with me for failure to successfully keep that promise.
