International - World Day of "Beetle"
World Hunchback Day - 22.06. The cult Volkswagen "Beetle" was the longest and most-produced car model in the history of motoring. Do you remember him?
Three curiosities about the car:
- In 1938 the production of KdF-Wagena began. The name, even by the standards of German aesthetics, was not very catchy. It's enough that people hated her. Then it was also changed to Volkswagen, or a vehicle for the people. In the same year, the New York Times journalists used the name Beetle for the first time - the beetle.
- The Beetle was the first car in history, the production of which exceeded 20 million copies. For a long time it was also the best-selling Volkswagen of all time, but then came the era of golf, which in 2002 took the palm of the first prize.
- The hunchback turned out to be a huge marketing success - also in terms of advertising. The "Think Small" campaign, proposed in 1999, was even hailed as the best advertisement of the past century, ahead of much larger scale productions. Once again, it turned out that in minimalism and simplicity, strength - and indeed Beetle himself won over supporters.
