Today a German supercar from the People's brand... Nope, it's not a Beetle.
The car? The Volkswagen Syncro W12
This model was presented in 1997 as a concept car with the unique engine (at that time only in testing), twin-V to make W12 of 5.6L and 420HP.
Today, the same engine powers the Bentley Bentayga that you discovered in the post #29.
Did you know?
This supercar was built on the request of Ferdinand Piech and already known Giorgetto Giugiaro.
Here is the creation of Giorgetto Giugiaro
Enjoy ;)
Missed out on my previous Car post? Find it here Car of The Day #55
VW has some other concept car that we don't see much information about... for example this XL1... I find the rear really ugly...
LMAO next level ugly ahahah
@mandl why I didnt get curators prize when upvote your replies too ?
Good to re-discover forgotten concept car, I prefer the 2001 model (especially the back)
Yes me too, however, the original concept car is the one which initiated the move. But in terms of design... The 2001 model is indeed better looking IMO ;)
Yeah they made only 3 models and they didn't go to the mass market...
One W12 2001 is enough for me... 3 don't fit in my garage, I should sell my Saxo Bic.
Right. Don't sell your Saxo Bic for this VW... ;)
wow this thing is strange what was vw thinking or whom ever designed it
A reminder: 1997.
Pretty advanced if you compare other sports car brands of the time.
Stunning car!
Nice car. It does have an italian look to it
To all car lovers, ask them the best brand in car, it's surely going to be Volkswagen. One of the best engineered brands. German engineering at its best
Don't be so sure, it's not the case for me :P
But yes they do provide great engineering - when they don't fake reports. ;)
Haha fake reports. Who minds reports when he owns Volkswagen anyway. I will anyday keep it 😎
Mixed feelings with this one, kind off ugly, but the engine makes up for it :p
It's really hard to put ourselves in the shoes of a 90s' mind to really judge the design.
Also the fact it's a VW + supercar the mind does not usually associates it with supercars. If it was a Bugatti or Mc Laren we would be nicer in our judgment. At least I think so. And yeah the engine makes up for it. :)
Very wise words my friend, as always, keep up the jucy posts!
I LOVE THIS ONE! @mandl
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL STEEMIANS!
Glad you do! Thanks ;)
Great work my friend !
