Mercedes - AMG Project One has found a factory!

It is almost certain that Project One has finally found an arrangement. According to the latest statements by Tobias Moers (the head of Mercedes - Amg) the future hypercar will be built in England, near the headquarters of the Mercedes Formula 1 team Amg Petronas Motorsport, located in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Moers states that Amg is working hard to try to adapt the incredible F1 derivation engine to the road, even if the challenge is extremely difficult.
As we know the Project One will be equipped with an incredible 1.6 liters with almost 700 horses, helped by four electric motors that will bring the total to over 1000, and which torque will be transmitted to the ground thanks to an innovative Xtrac eight-speed robotized gearbox.
The performances will be astonishing (0-200 km / h in less than six seconds and over 350 km / h top speed) and with a downforce of 675 kilos there will be no problem keeping the streamlined and futuristic body glued to the ground.
The latest rumors also reveal that Moers is not exactly satisfied with having "only" a thousand horses from that hybrid powertrain, calling it "good, but not good enough" and if he says it ... you just have to believe him.

With the progress of the project, Mercedes - Amg has also declared that in the future it could try to set a new record at the Nurburgring, not trying to conquer the record for road cars, but trying to beat even the record record set by the legendary Stefan Bellof back in 1983.
With a weight of around 1300 kilos, such a quantity of horses and aerodynamics so refined, the Project One could also approach the time obtained in the race by the German driver of 6'25''9, but in all honesty I hope that the incredible and crazy record set by Bellof in the qualification of 6'11''13 remains unbeaten.
Going back to talking about the road side of Project One, a big problem will consist in making an engine that is exceptional but extremely complex and designed for racing, docile and reliable like that of a standard production car. Customers who will be able to buy one of the 1100 specimens foreseen will know that the maximum engine life will be around 31,000 miles (about 50000 kilometers) and although they will probably never reach that figure, the biggest challenge will be to make the 1.6 liter it comes on at any time and in any condition, even without a Formula 1 team in tow.
