Since I was a young lad, I used to go to my friends' workshop, to learn about fixing cars. I learnt a lot of information over the years.
He was a great friend and was great at what he did.
Thou he was great at what he did, he used to drive crazily, or so funny, that I couldn't stop laughing.
Once, someone couldn't pay the bill, so he took the car instead, as payment. It was a green Rover 400, and it had just had its head gasket done. It was in dark green, with cream leather seats and wood trim.
When driving it back to the workshop, my friend wasn't in the best mood with the car but saying that he was very happy. He decided to take the car down a country road, extremely fast, yanking the handbrake every turn. He turned on the radio and all of a sudden doctor who started playing, he looked confused and used the CD, as a Frisby, and it flew through someone's garage window. We got back safely to the workshop and that was it...
Another time, he picked up a Ford escort Mk5. It failed the MOT, he couldn't be bothered to spend any time sorting out the welding and sorting out the knackered engine.
When we got back to the yard, there was some construction going on, at the other side of the car park.
He told me to get out, of the car and use my phone to record him, I was a bit puzzled. He started revving the car, then dropped the clutch. Smoke and dust went everywhere. He started hand braking all over the place. Since there was some construction, there was a big 6-foot tall pile of earth, which was about 25 ft long.
He suddenly headed towards to the pile, and the car scrabbled up to the top, with mud flying everywhere.
When he reached the top, he drove down the full length of this pile, as fast as he could. The car shot off the end and flew through the air (dukes of hazard style), and the car landed with a thump on the ground. The suspension at the front gave way, and the sump hit the floor. It left a puddle of oil on the floor, but he carried on. The car was now super loud, as the exhaust had also come off.
He did this same procedure a few times, surprisingly as the chassis was also bent.
The car was unable to move in the end, and a few minutes later the car seized. I am surprised it lasted as long as it did.
I would never do this to a car, but it was funny to see this death trap, get some fun use before it died.
At least he had some fun😁
