factory new Mclaren F1 for sale

in #cars7 years ago

Say you're in the market for a McLaren F1. You've always wanted one, but you just didn't get to buy one back in the 90's when they were originally produced. But now you want one. Good news: The lowest-mileage F1 in the world is currently for sale. And it is assuredly the most original, untouched example of the car you'll ever find. It's even more special knowing that it's the 25th anniversary of the F1.

I mean, just look at it. a 1997 McLaren F1 in Dandelion Yellow that’s clocked just 239km (149mi) and still wears its factory-applied sheath of plastic over the Alcantara interior. it was never driven nor was it ever registered. a more authentic model will never appear once again.

Oddly enough, the F1 had three seats in it. The driver was positioned in the center of the car, not only to make the driver feel special, but to avoid having an offset pedal box, all thanks to the designer, Gordon Murray. The car comes complete with all of its gizmos and gadgets, that you probably didn't even know, came with a Mclaren F1.

Now spec-wise, this car comes with a naturally aspirated 6.1-liter V12 produced by BMW that makes 627 horsepower propelling the car from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, they achieved this in 1992! It was able to achieve a world record speed at the time of 240 miles per hour (386 km/h) and it held that title for 7 years untill the Veyron came along to take the spotlight. the Mclaren was able to achieve its top speed by using ram air ducting, the same that is used in Formula 1 cars.

But why did someone order the quickest and most expensive car you could get at that time and never drive it? That in itself is a complete mistery. Looking at the owners manual, wich is a masterpiece in itself, shows that the car was delivered to Japan, but sadly was never driven on any of the japanese roads.

Even on this day, 25 years after the release of the F1, it is still increasing in value and doens't show a way of slowing down, which is normal as there are only 106 built versions of the Mclaren F1. this F1, with chasis number 060, is the closest thing you will ever find to factory new. nothing has been opened of the additional packaging and the full interior and exterior is brand new. Recently, an F1 with 9,600 miles sold for $15.62 million at Bonhams auction, just imagine the auction price of a brand new one. It is going to be the most expensive F1 ever sold and rightfully so. But as of this moment, the sale of the car is at an undisclosed price.
