A sister property to the nearby Breezes Hotel, Baraza Resort & Spa is still fairly young and sits nicely in the top end market, appealing to both families and couples alike. Baraza Resort & Spa is located down on the south eastern coast of Zanzibar where the sand is a little finer and more powdery and the vast villas are spread out over a large area of the coast, giving it a feeling of space. With the sizes of the villas and the fact that they can sleep 4 or more, along with a private pool to each, we recommend Baraza Resort & Spa highly for families.
Beach - With Baraza's location being on one of our favourite beaches on the island, set away from the bustle of the area surrounding Paje, to the south, this really is a great choice for those looking to have some quiet beach time. It is true that this area of the island does not have great access to diving, but we think that the beach at Baraza Resort & Spa more than makes up for this fact as it really is idyllic.

Rooms - Each of the villas has been hand designed and built to the highest specifications, featuring a subdued Arabic style, using marble, copper and dark woods throughout. Add in the special features such as the carved lamp shades and delicate lighting and this is a great property.

Layout - As mentioned above, Baraza is a fairly large property featuring around 45 rooms, but, with its spread out location and enormous rooms, with self-contained pool and diving areas, it does not feel so large. In fact, with great service and food, it really is quite surprising that you don't notice.

Overall - Baraza Resort & Spa is somewhere that will suit those looking for a bit of luxury on their trip as well as seclusion. The rooms are so big as to off
