When it's too hot to film...

When is the weather too hot?

For many of us in the U.K. right now!! (Lol)

This is the weather we have been dealing with today:

Now, fair play - there are many other places in the world that see such temperatures on a regular basis, and some that see even higher temps. Thing is, we don't as a rule here, as we live in a temperate zone, so bar the occasional heatwave, it's generally all green and pleasant here during the Summer months.

Now? Well, this is the first time a red weather warning has been issued here in the U.K. for extreme heat. Even though the hottest day on record was in Cambridge in 2019 (where it reached 38.7 degrees Celsius on the 25th of July) this heatwave looks to be here for longer, and will probably break this record too.

Here's what we are looking at for tomorrow:

Many of you will tell us that these temperatures are not that high, and that parts of Australia and America see much higher figures. True, but the problem is, we don't have the infrastructure here in the U.K. to deal with such extreme heat. Our roads and runways are built to withstand rain more than heat, so we have had issues with planes unable to land today due to the runways melting. So weird!

Ben and I have had to review our latest press car in sections, as it's been too hot to get into the car at points...

Have you had any problems coping with this heat?

Thank you all, and stay cool!

Hope you both can stay cool enough and I've seen roads peel off with extreme heat it's not good.

Did you find that they smelt of hot tar too? One of the roads around where we live in Berkshire certainly did. Nuts!

The fact of the matter is that here in the UK, complaining about the weather is our favorite pastime. Even more popular than complaining about the useless politicians or the current state of the national sports team.

The unusually hot weather is only supposed to last 24-48 hours now, and the weekend is forecast to be 20C and rain, and we'll damn well complain about that too!

From the last spell of hot weather I learnt the best thing is to keep windows closed and curtains shut during the hottest parts of the day. We've been allowed to work from home for Monday and Tuesday which saves having to traipse into the office. It did mean I had 4 ice lolly things (two twisters, a solero and a cornetto) so I was nice and cool!

The only problem I have had is having to go in the house to top up my drink 😂

Finding it crazy to believe it's hotter in England than in Thailand right now ... looks like the Southwest of England is getting away with things somewhat (where i'm from originally, Plymouth on your map)

It was crazy wasn't it! Our house hit 31 indoors and that's the problem with new houses. They are designed to retain the heat, to be cost effective but when we hit the extremes, it's a struggle.
