A couple of Classic old Australian made cars.

in #cars7 years ago

I took these photo's at a local car show where I found these classic old Australian made cars.

This is the 1965 Ford XP Falcon, it was the fourth and last model of the first generation of Australian-made Ford Falcon's.
It was produced in a 4 door sedan, 2 door hardtop and a 5 door station wagon, the XP came with three engine types.
144 ci (2.3L), 170 ci (2.8L) and a 200 ci (3.3 L) Straight-6 OHV.

The second car is the Australian produced Holden EK ute, the EK came in a four-door sedan, five door station wagon, two door ute and the two door panel van. It has a 138 cu in or 2.3 Lt Straight 6 cyl which produced 75 hp or 56 kW of power.

I have always been a fan of the XP Falcon, I love the 2 door the shape was ahead of it's time. :o)

Yeah that's true the 2 door looks mad, cheers mate.

I remember these cars from my childhood they were great old cars.

The were pretty cool cars in their day that's for sure, cheers lyrica.

Nice.

Thanks mate, cheers.

very nice..

Thanks, glad you like it, cheers.

They don't make cars like they used to! Hell, we don't make cars at all now...

There certainly wasn't much plastic on these old beasts, they were built like tanks, Lol cheers friend.

Indeed they were. I learned to drive in an old EH, with 3 on the tree, bench seat front, the family car...

And had an HR, Hell Raiser for a bit. I Would love to have the Charger or an HK Monaro I wanted to buy back in the day and my parents forbade it as they thought I might just kill myself.

Yeah I know what you mean, my first car was a XA 302 almost did kill myself driving that beast, cheers mate.

Had an XB coupe 351 Windsor at one stage, my brother "sold"it from under me. And then, at Christmas, had the nerve to mention to me how much they are worth now...

Best car I ever owned was a 250 crossflow TD Cortina. That thing had some get up and go! Wheel spins changing 3rd to 4th if you tried accelerating, at 120...

It only really started to go at 100...

Cool they were mad cars, I had a TE Cortina with a 250 crossflow, that thing was like a rocket ship. You are correct about the lighting up the tyres, no problem at all, Lol, cheers mate.

wow! wow! i'm crazy about car.

Me too, thanks for the visit my friend, cheers.
