Looking for a great long-break summer experience this Holy Week? Try Casiguran Province. We visited this beautiful place last year, 2017.
Casiguran is a 360km drive from Manila, approximately 6-8 hours travel depending on the traffic situation.
We left Cabanatuan City arround 8AM and we arrived in Dipaculao at lunch time. SAKTO! Nanay Rosabel – a mother of our church member invited us to have a lunch time with them. The food was great. Ginataang native hipon with pako (fern leaves), Tulingan fish, and ‘dynamite’ – hot pepper na ginawang lumpia.
After a short rest and saying ‘Thank you’, we hit the road again. Along the way, we saw people doing their panata through ‘penitensya’.
One hour more travelling and we arrived at Dinadiawan.
We stayed here for a longer time looking for a place to stay, but because we don’t have any hotel reservations and the beach were crowded, we decided to look for another beach-front place to stay.
As we decided to pitch our tents somewhere near the beach, suddenly my daughter saw her friend (which is a fellow pastor from the same city we live in). We were invited to join them. Then, another one and half hour travel to Casiguran.

Sometimes, the road was off the grid!
We arrived late in the evening, but at last, there’s one hotel room left available – para sa amin talaga! Hahaha
After a good night's rest, early in the morning we went to Casapsapan Beach. The place is so amazing!
Casapsapan Beach, here we come!
After swimming at the beach, we went back to our hotel, ate our breakfast then immediately travelled to Bulawan Falls. Here’s a fair warning: Don’t even try to go to Bulawan Falls if your car is NOT an SUV or bigger unit. The road is rocky and uphill. (Traveling up we saw a Hi-Ace on the side of the road, another was an Innova. There’s a RAV4 on the top pero nag-overheat at tanggal ang mga tapalodo!)
WELCOME TO BULAWAN FALLS!
The travel and the tiredness were all GONE when we saw the Falls!

Another more than one hour in Bulawan Falls, we hit the road again, tired but satisfied.
One of the best summer get-away we had as a family!
