Yes. But following them opens you up to weekly contests you can enter with your content and if you sign up for the discord channel it helps build a following and community.
The problem is, new users don't have any liquid steem or SBD, they can't afford minnowsupport. I'm more interested to see communities with no barrier for entry.
You don't need steem to enter their weekly contest. I can make up to 20 Steem off that contest along. Plus the free resteems and upvotes.
