You’re walking in the casino and see that twelve times in a row there was a red number. You’re partner tells you that you can play one time only, $100 on red or black. Which colour do you choose and why?
Most people will play black! The answer is simple, it doesn’t matter which colour (red or black) you’re gonna play. The little roulette ball doesn’t have a memory on its own and the chances of the ball falling on a red number are even with falling on a black number. The casino will always be the winner in the end because of the house edge of 2.7% (with 1 zero in play) or even 5.2% with doubles zero in play. Personally I would even pick red! Playing along with the last numbers on the roulette wheel will hurt less in the end then betting against it. The Martingale system means you have to double your bet every time you lose your bet. Eventually this system will break you and I don’t advise to use this system.
I’ve see a lot of people go broke in my ‘casino-life’ because the colour had to come some time. However the odds will always remain ‘only' 48.65% in your favour.
What is your 'roulette' story?
I'll take red, just to be part of a 13 times red streak. And because: red.
Normally I don't play red or black. Mostly the series and offcourse number 17 plein and all the corners. When I'm winning I mostly play a lot bigger compared to when I'm losing. So it's mostly a 'small' loss or a nice win.
I was thinking the same. :)
Nice post ! I would play the zero instead of a colour ;-)
go big or go home
