The mountains are amazing here. Castle Rock is a small town with a cozy feel to it. You must visit the Castle Rock Cafe. The food is amazing, especially the fried chicken. They make it when you order so make sure to order ahead, you won’t be sorry! I have had it many times and always a successful dinner or lunch. The drinks and people here are amazing! I brought my dog, Malikyi and he loved the people he's a cool Aussidoodle so everyone was taking pics and telling him how cute he is. The air is dry so make sure to bring layers or at least a jacket for the evenings, they get cooler. This time of the year is always cooler in the morning and evening. During the day it's hot but a dry hot. So bring water. I am always ready for a good German beer so get ready they had plenty this year along with food. lots of food I think every food truck is trying to get out since they have been stuck inside for so long around here. They had rock climbing walls, a trampoline a huge one, and all the fun music you would ever want to hear. This cozy little town is a hidden gem. It's like a little ski town even though they do not ski here. It's flat but the wood buildings and old feel make it nice. If you keep heading down Main street you start seeing all the new buildings. they are trying to grow but so far remain a small town. so if you want to walk around down a nice area and enjoy the beautiful cool weather heading in then this is for you. I loved it!
