RE: My cat gave birth to a cute kitten

Welcome to HIVE.

Joining HIVE is a little bit like giving birth to a kitten.

It is a frustrating place for beginners.

Lets' see: Advice I would give newcomers.

Hmmm, Don't autofollow the accounts that follow you. Most the autofollowers are spam accounts.

You might write a post with the tag: #introduceyourself . That tag is abused, but some whales scan it and upvote new clients.

I like to check my account on HiveBlocks.com . This shows data for your account as it appears on the blockchain.

I've found the upvote calculator to be helpful. You have 100 HP. I typed 100 into the calculator. It says your upvote is worth $0.0008 . If you drop 125 upvotes, you will distribute a dime's worth of HIVE.

Each vote reduces your upvote power by 2%. Vote power generates at 20% a day. So, plan on upvoting 10 times a day.

Don't upvote your own content. Your upvote is worth only $0.0008 . You won't make any money from self-upvotes until after you have several thousand HP. Some of the big accounts don't upvote people who vote on their own accounts. Upvoting your own content gives you no rewards and it discourage a person with sizeable HP from voting on your account.

Use your upvote for networking. Even though your upvote is worth little, people like getting upvotes and they might read your blog.

The biggest frustration is that HIVE does not give a payout if the total upvotes are worth less than $0.02. If you upvoted this comment, the system will show the value of the upvote as $0.00. It won't pay off.

The best course of action for small accounts is to go the account that upvoted you, and drop an upvote on one of their posts in return.

So, people use their upvotes for networking. So, find some accounts with compelling content. Upvote their post. They might upvote your posts in return.

Good luck on HIVE.
