Stress in cats is important to consider, it is also useful to know when a cat is experiencing a state of happiness and security. Paying closer attention to the slow blinking is helpful and it may even be possible to examine the pupils of a cat too. Lack of dilation will be an indication of a cats state of content as they blink slowly.
It is a happy and relaxed state of mind that is not always attained, especially for new cats changing environments.
