RE: Hobo is Getting A Housemate

in #caturday5 years ago

Right there with you.

Two of our current three cats arrived into our lives by showing up on a neighbor's doorstep, two doors down, and the neighbor in-between called to ask if I was missing a cat.

We lucked out with Musica, who was a gorgeous two-year-old grey tabby, who had beautiful manners and had already been spayed. That was a few years ago.

About a year ago, the same neighbor called to see if one of our neighbor's kittens had gone missing, as she knew I had taken care of them when he was out of town. Nope.

When I went to see her, she was an absolutely beautiful little longhaired tortoiseshell, maybe all of six weeks old, so about a month younger than the other kittens, and clearly not from the same litter, even though she strongly resembled the momma cat.

The worst thing is that she was literally starving to death. Not only her ribs, but her spine showed clearly through her fur, and I was hopeful, but I wasn't certain that she was going to make it.

Happily she did, adopted Musica as her new mom, and adores our elder statesman Bear as well. The three of them frequently sleep together.

We lucked out in a big way.

So happy that Hobo will be getting her new bestie soon! ;-)

Apparently Hobo hung around around across the street for a few days before banging at my door (literally) at the crack of dawn one morning. My neighbour told me she thought it was one of mine and they were giving her some food. I laughed and told her, I never let my cats outside. My house is close to the main highway, I just wouldn't chance it.

Tramp arrived this morning. Her and Hobo seemed to hit it off but she's not sure she wants to make friends with me. It's a lot for her to take in so will just let her find her space.

That's great that she and Hobo have hit it off. That's huge.

She'll come around. I'm so happy that you're giving her a forever home. ;-)
