As you can see from the website(https://www.optimal-hemp.com/), there are many products available on the market and I know how confusing it can be when it comes to buying a product. Within this post I will explain the myriad of products available, along with their benefits so that you can make an informed decision as to what is the most suitable for you.
I will start off this article by speaking to you about what CBD is, as this will assist you in finding the right product. CBD, also known as Cannabidiol is one just one of at least 113 active compounds identified in cannabis. The world health organisation stated that: “CBD (Cannabinoids) show no public health risk and does not show any potential for abuse”, they even mentioned that it could have therapeutic value!
This is great news, as it validates the potential benefit for CBD when it comes to your health. Though as I stated earlier, there are at least 113 active compounds found in cannabis, each holding their own therapeutic benefits. You can very much liken cannabinoids to essential oils as they also hold their own individual value, for example: Frankincense is known for its anti-inflammatory properties whereas it has been said that lavender can help treat sleep issues. Other well known Cannabinoids are CBDA, CBGA, CBCA, CBN and many more, and although we are unable to state their therapeutic benefits, you can find out about them online through doing your own research.
Therefore when it comes to buying a CBD based product, its always good to know which cannabinoids exist within the product. Some will contain what is known as the Full Hemp Extract (All Cannabinoids minus any THC) while others will contain only a few of the cannabinoids. What you choose will depend on what you are using it for. Note: All CBD Oils are sold as a food supplements, therefore we are not allowed to provide and recommendations. We always suggest you do your own research before purchasing any oils.
(I would always suggest that people choose a full hemp extract as it will contain all the necessary cannabinoids and not just a few of them. Though you will also find the benefit from products that contain just a few of the cannabionoids to support your body.)
When it comes to using CBD Oils or any CBD derived products, it is said that when using CBD it activates The Endocannabinoid System. This is known to bring balance and harmony to your mind and body, whist bringing the body into a state of homoeostasis. You can find out more about The Endocannabinod System in my most recent article: https://www.optimal-hemp.com/hemp-cbd-topicals-science-behind-benefits/
So, now lets look at the different products available on the market:
CBD Oils:
CBD Oils are the most well known and spoken about products available on the market. CBD Oils will vary depending on the brand, some will be contain just a few cannabinoids whereas others will use the full plant hemp extract. Strength will vary depending on what you buy some will contain 100mg of cannabinoids while other will have 3000mg plus. Your choice of bottle will come down to your personal reason for using it. The higher the strength, the more effective it is likely to be, though you also want to look at the cannabinoid content as I stated earlier. Once you have found a CBD Oil that is contains what you would like, it then comes down to personal choice. (You will notice that some oils will contain other ingredients like Turmeric or Frankincense). So you may like to go with one of these oils for other therapeutic benefits.

CBD Capsules
CBD Capsules are very much the same as CBD Oils though are taken in a capsule form much like how you would take any other tablet. The great thing about the capsules is that you know exactly how many CBD is contained within each capsule, they are also simple and easy to use. You can take them on the go and even monitor your use.

CBD Oils and Capsules are both ingested and will be metabolised through the liver which can take time to work. This can result with you feeling the effects within 2 to 3 hours. Some people have mentioned that capsules can be harsh on the digestive system, though this is not often the case. For those who do find that to be an issue, you may like to try vaping CBD.
Vaping CBD or Eliquids
Vaping CBD Eliquids is much different than using the Capsules or CBD Oils, as when you vape you are bypasing the liver. Therefore, The Endocannabinoid Sytem will be activated much quicker and in some cases works even better than ingestion.
During vaporization, CBD enters your lungs and diffuses directly into your bloodstream rather than passing through your gut and liver. This avoids the first-pass effect altogether, allowing nearly four times as much CBD to enter your circulation for a maximum bioavailability of roughly 50 to 60 percent. Essentially, this means you can achieve the same beneficial effects with a much smaller amount of CBD. You can also get Eliquids that contain just a few cannabinoids or the Full Hemp Extract. (We will be stocking more Eliquids again soon)
CBD Edibles
CBD Edibles are products like Lollies, Hard Candy or even Chocolate that contain CBD or again the Full Hemp Extract. What I love about edibles is the taste, as they can mask the taste of a CBD Oil which at times don’t leave a nice taste in your mouth. There are though some drawbacks and this will all depend on if you are a health conscious consumer or even a vegan. Many of the Edibles available on the market are full of sugar which I know many of you will not like. CBD Edibles like Lollies and Hard Candy will more often than not will contain gelatin, so this will not be suitable for many vegans. Chocolate may also not be suitable for vegans as it contains milk. The good news is more CBD Edibles are coming to the market that are vegan friendly. Therefore, those of you who want to get your intake of CBD, you can also get it through edibles. (We will be stocking more Edibles again soon)
CBD Balms and Creams (also known as Topicals)
The great thing about balms and creams is that they can treat the area of the body that is in need. You can apply creams to your skin and it will work directly in that place to alleviate any stress or tension. You can read about the benefits of CBD Topicals in my recent article here: https://www.optimal-hemp.com/hemp-cbd-topicals-science-behind-benefits/
