The CBSE has given another chance to Class 10 and Class 12 students who failed in the board examination in 2017 by allowing them to appear again as regular candidates in 2018.
CBSE Board Exam 2018: Application Process For Private Candidates Begins
The Central Board of Secondary Education has called for applications from class 12 candidates who wish to appear for compartment or improvement exams, candidates who have failed or are Not Eligible for Improvement of Performance (NIOP). These candidates can appear as private candidates in the CBSE board exams which will be conducted in March 2018.
The Board has also called for application for private candidates for the class 10 exams. These will be conducted for 80 marks and will cover 100 per cent of the class 10 syllabus.
What CBSE notice read:
"Those candidates who have passed/failed in class X/XII in 2017 Examination can also seek fresh admission as regular candidate in an CBSE affiliated school and appear in X/XII Examination 2018 for improvement (for pass out candidates)/passing (for failed candidates)," said a notification published by the board.
"It is clarified that CBSE is examining body and admission in the school will be decided by the school as per their own rules governing the school/trust," added the board.
Candidates have to pay a fee of Rs 900 for five subjects before November 27, 2017. The fee for an additional subject for private candidates is Rs 180, for additional, compartment or improvement candidates is Rs 200 and for practicals and projects is Rs 80.
Candidates should also note that fresh roll numbers will be allotted for candidates appearing for the 2018 Board exams and will not be allowed to use previous years’ roll numbers. Those from outside the Delhi region, can download an intimation letter for the admit cards in January/February 2018. For students in Delhi, the admit cards will be available online from February 2018.
