When you have a new ride weather it's a brand new car or a motorcycle, it nice to break it in and also see if there are any factory defects you can notice right away.
Here in Cebu Philippines, we break-in our new rides by going "round south". Yes, it's interesting ride with curvy, loopy and uphill roads as it traverse mountain and mountain sides. Though Cebu is generally along shore side but when you cross from east to west, then that's where the thrill happens.
It's about 100 kilometers away from the city and going back to the other side of another 100 kilometers plus so that would sum up to 200 kilometers more. The ride will take about 6-8 hrs from the City to Santander (southern most town of Cebu) and a little bit slower on the east side. That would really take a day and enjoy the round south trip already. At this pace though, you only can have few stops by the road side, grab some foods and you really can't go to beautiful scenic views and make some stop overs.
When you go back to the city, it's really a tiresome day and you might take leave on the next day. :)
Tips and great places around Cebu can be seen in Peps & Coks (pepsncoks.com). It focuses all the towns of Cebu, stopovers on town plaza, great destinations and more.
That's all for now. See yeah folks on next round south ride, not to break-in since that's done but on a motorcade ride with friends. It's cool!
I've done the same thing only on the island of Samar... and it takes a good two complete days to circle around from Samar to Northern Samar to Eastern Samar and back to Calbayog City. And that is without much sightseeing!
