Not sure anymore if honoring a celebrity in death is right or wrong with all this crap going on in Hollywood. Celebrities are not what they used to be. They cared about their image, what they represented to the public. Which is how tabloids got started in the first place. "Let's catch the liars and the cheats. These people aren't as pure as the pretend to be." Not sure why that even became an issue. Why should we as the general populous have the misnomer that celebrities are even nice people, because the gave money to a charity? It's actually a shallow act to put on a show to make themselves look good. If they truly cared they would do way more constructive things with their time and money.
Should celebrities be worshipped and be treated and act like gods. Hell no. I do feel that we should honor the talent though. Honor the memories that some of them have left us with that said. Rest In Peace David Ogden Stiers. Not sure how many of you know the name , but you should recognize his face and voice.
David Ogden Stiers October 31, 1942 – March 3, 2018
He has a pretty prolific career. According to Wikipedia.com (among various other sites) he studied at Julliard School of Drama, Group 1 (the first class at Juilliard from 1968 to 1972)to be mentored by John Houseman his acting career started around 1974. He had minor walk on roles on shows such as 'Mary Tyler Moore Show','Kojak',and 'Rhoda' just to name a few.
His big break came playing the role of Dr. Charles Emerson Winchester III on a small TV show called MASH (lol Markdown is giving me issues with the title. Since it has a link, we're just let things be. 😁)
After MASH ended in 1983 he went on to do an amazing amount of voice work and various movies and TV shows up until 2017. His most notable roles for the younger generations are:
Cogsworth - Beauty and the Beast
Governor Ratcliff - Pocahontas
Archdeacon - The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Obviously, this is just a small amount of his credits over the years, but some of the most notable to all. A couple of my favorite roles of his are Mayor Nick Nicholson in
Doc Hollywood and Timicin 'Half a Life - Star Trek TNG
Thank you for so many wonderful memories, may you rest in peace and your family not dwell on their loss but the blessing you brought to their lives.
My apologies, you have supported me so very much and I have left you hanging. I am always here for you brother!
I wasn't worried. We all have lives and can't catch everything that gets posted. Thank you so much for the support @skytronia. I do appreciate it.
