Daily Celestial Challenge: Tuesday - Animal Kingdom/The sea dragon
The sea dragon, is a beautiful marine fish of the same family of the seahorse. Originally from Australia has long extensions in the form of a leaf that are distributed throughout the body, which helps in its camouflage. This is one of the most desired exotic animals in the world.
It looks like a floating algae and due to its physical characteristics it is subject to various threats. They are trapped by collectors and even used in alternative medicine. Their current status is of minor concern, even so, they are protected by the Australian government.
Obtaining sea dragons for exhibition in aquariums is a difficult and expensive process since to distribute them, special licenses are required to ensure the origin or the appropriate permits. Even so, the maintenance in captivity is very difficult and the majority of specimens die.
