Love towards Jesus
Why we must we love Jesus?
Imagine that we are going on a sinking ship. Would you like someone to save you? ... What happens if the person gave his life to rescue you? ... Well, that's what Jesus did. He gave his life as a ransom to save us.
Of course, it is not that Jesus does not save from drowning. Do you remember that it saves us? ... of him the sin and the death that we all inherited from Adam. Although some people have done very bad things, Jesus also died for them. Would you risk your life to try to save people like that?.
The Bible says: "Just die someone for a righteous man, in fact, for a good man, maybe, someone even dares to die." But it also explains that Jesus "died for the ungodly", for people who did not even serve God. The Bible adds that "while we were still sinners," that is, while doing bad things, "Christ died for us."
Think how much love God showed in sending his son to die for such bad people. Take the Bible and read what John says, chapter 3, verse 16.-
"God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, so that all who exercise faith in him may not be destroyed, but may have eternal life." John 3:16.
Jesus loved us as much as his father. All the abuse and what he suffered the night he was arrested. Jesus did not die right away, he suffered a lot first. But even so, Jesus knew that his father had sent him with a purpose: to give his perfect life so that we could live forever.
Jesus demonstrated his love both to God and to humanity. He always obeyed God and gave his life to repair all the damage that Adam did to us. He died for you for me, gave his perfect life for us to live eternally. Without a doubt, it is a good reason for us to love him.
"Christ died for all, that we all may live for him, we must live to please Christ, not itself" 2 Corinthians 5: 14-15.
Another reason why we should love Jesus is that we want to imitate Jehovah. "The father loves me," said Jesus. Do you know why Jehovah loves him and why should we do it too? ... because Jesus was willing to die so that the will of God could be done. John 10:17.
That is why we must obey the following biblical advice.
"Become imitators of God, as beloved children, and continue to walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave himself up for you" Ephesians 5: 1-2.
