OnePlus is teaming up with famous fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac for a brand new take on the OnePlus 5. The new design, dubbed the “Callection”, will feature a combination of a company that “never settles” and the designer who has been called the “King of Unconventional”.
The OnePlus 5 JCC+ limited edition smartphone will go on sale in Paris on September 22. OnePlus will host a pop-up event at 10 AM CEST at the fashion boutique Colette. Then, beginning on October 2, the phone will be sold on OnePlus.net throughout Europe. The special edition OnePlus 5 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage and will run you €559 EUR / £499 GBP. But, what makes it truly stand out is the design.
The new OnePlus 5 variant, as well as holsters, bags, caps, and t-shirts, will reflect Castelbajac’s chromatic style. The special-run device will have a blue power button, yellow sound profile button, and a red volume rocker in addition to writing on the back. OnePlus says it wanted to team up with the designer because it’s “always looking to try new things with partners who embody the Never Settle spirit”.
Castelbajac elaborates on the partnership:
I always like looking towards the future. To change the world, you always need to be creative and work with people who are ahead of their time.
While the “Callection” OnePlus 5 will only be sold in Europe, the rest of the lineup will be available in Europe, North America, China, and India. The limited edition t-shirts and tote bags will be available for purchase on October 2 for £27.95/€29.95 EUR/$29.95 USD and £21.95/ €24.95 EUR/$24.95 USD respectively. The baseball cap, case bag, and holster will all come later via limited sales drops.
