I've been thinking a lot today of how lucky I am to have found this blockchain of ours all those years ago. It truly has been a rollercoaster ride in every sense of the word. A ride that has made a big difference in my life.
My morning thoughts in a nutshell:
Six months of work, 100 plus videos later, hours of painstaking dedication gone, simply because I said the wrong thing. According to who? What thing? No explanation given, but Youtube, one of the pillars of Web 2.0 doesn't really have to give you one, doesn't owe you one.
You know..
When I started my Hive journey I had no clue what I was supposed to do here, or what I was going to write about. In those days the idea of having a blog seemed pretentious to me, but I quickly found out how fulfilling it can be to be able to express your ideas to the world.
I've written thousands of posts on this blockchain, and have shared hundreds of controversial opinions too. I did so while not fearing for a bit that any of it would disappear, that my efforts would be taken away at the whim of external interests. This, my friends, is the true value of this blockchain, the real reason why even thought the valuation can display a number in crimson red, those of us who "get it" feel completely fine with it.
There are countless people who came and left our blockchain over the years, some that I quite miss sometimes, but you know what? Their footprints are still here. They conversations they had, the poems they shared, the ideas they felt needed to live out in the world remain on here, and probably will continue to for decades and decades to come. How amazing is that? How powerful is that?
In a sense Hive can give an author, a thinker, the closest thing to immortality, the immortality of your thoughts. It gives you this gift without you having to be the best author, the best poet, the best political analyst out there. What other platform do you know that can offer such a thing, such remarkable undeniable value?
But don't worry, I'm not naïve either. I was there when the sacred texts were written as they jokingly say. I remember the growing pains, the fights, the drama, all of it because it also happened to me. But again, that whole journey, with all it's quirky characters, ridiculous villains and unsung heroes, all of it is still here, here for all of us to relive.
I'll grant you I sound quite existential at the moment, but I'm just being honest with my feelings, and that's always a good thing, a healthy thing to do. This blog of mine has been an integral part of my personal journey, of my growth as man, as a friend, as a husband.
You know, even if there's just a few people that read my words, like those days when I would sing in a bar for just a couple of patrons, I'm still able to feel immense gratitude. I'm grateful that someone cares enough to listen my silly ideas, to refute them, to agree and everything in between, because that is part of the experience of living, of sharing, of growing, of being.
This day might have started out with anger and shock, but it ends with nostalgia and gratitude. After all, life is nothing but a rollercoaster.

I'm glad you're still here. Hive is something special even if the world has yet to realise that.
im thinking its bound to happen, more so because controlling the narrative is part of the agenda, and centralized systems cannot be saved from it
It is good to have this capacity to reflect on our blessings when we suffer setbacks. I admire that of you.
Thanks!
thank you my friend
