Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I think you are right about integrity and you should not feel the need to censor yourself or your opinions. I think most of the people on here would expect nothing less.
I think there is a bit of a cheerleader mentality which happens around any system, organisation or platform that people feel passionate about. That said I don't understand why people would start flagging your Tesla post. That makes no sense. Did they give a reason?
The "vote like a whale" feature would be awesome. I've been testing out the promotion feature and whilst I'm not as bothered by burning SBD (I'm used to the concept from other cryptos) - I would still prefer the vote "supercharging" option. That way the money would go to the author whom I was trying to support.
I think this would be a real killer feature that would really help address inequality - along with the proposed vote delegation feature.
Hopefully these things can be added in soon.
All the best:)
i agree with your assessment that the supercharging feature could be a killer feature. Dan said something about it being a bad idea because of sock puppets. What are your thoughts on that?
I'm not sure what he means by that. Yes people could make fake accounts to promote a post but they still have to pay so I don't see the problem - there would be no point in making hundreds of accounts and using them because you would need to have the money. As I see it, the potential downsides are minimal.
I think if steemit is to continue successfully in the future they need to equalize voting in some way. Maybe supercharging is the way. If minnows feel they won't be rewarded for good content unless a whale votes them up, they won't stay very long and contribute to the community imo.
This is another reason I was an advocate for an up votes only platform. The only thing I think should be flaggable is plagiarism, spam, and abusive posts.
