I have been accused of being a shitty communicator, and have made efforts to change and improve the way I deal with people and the world.

In today's world, there is so much doublespeak, miscommunication and misdirection that we are often left wading through swamps of jetsam and flowsam.

I have learned to be straight forward, but oftentimes people cannot deal with the truth. They react with fiery conviction based on emotions, so it is often essential to pad the truth. I have had bosses say they want me to raise any issue that arises for clarity but that they don't have time to help me. Mixed signals, much?

People chose their winners and losers and so do governments and corporations. I simply keep pushing and expect to spend 3-5 years there before invetiable collapse of workplace relationships.

The double standard of complete honesty and emotional and staunch response to the contrary makes me retreat from conflict. At best, I prove my point and at worst I make a new enemy.

I have found that the best case scenario when dealing with people in today's world is to minimize contact and maximize chain of command. I have to cc every boss and manager and really push that our agenda is the best course of action for the company. It's essential to take ownership and build a surface level relationship. It's a new world, and it's new rules for every level of communication.
