Pahela Boishakh or Bangla New Year is a unique and one of the national festivals of Bengalis. New Year means the joy of entering the old, worn out existence of a new and fresh life, to enter into a refreshing new life. Its tradition is ancient and glorious. However, due to the journey of time it has changed in its celebration style, it has achieved different dimensions. Consistent with the production of crop in Bangladesh, the idea of celebrating Bangla Nababsha since ancient times has been made. This festival is also more important for the national life of the Bengali people, because of the independence of today that Bangladesh has become independent, New Year's inspiration was also active. Because they were protesting against the ignorance and the barbarous Pakistanis who were opposed to celebrating this festival of the lives of the people of Bengal, it was disgusting. Through the Bengali New Year celebrations, they have highlighted the Bengali nationalist sentiments
This unique cultural identity reflects their long-standing secular ideology. So this day became a festivities through various activities in independent Bangladesh. In addition to the halakhata and sweet distribution ceremony of traders, various sports competitions, exhibitions, fairs, musicals, poetry recitations, discussion and lectures etc. were organized. This festival is universal, Hindu-Muslim, Buddhist and Christian-regardless of the whole Bengali nation.
This is the festival of the lives of Bangla speaking people from the upper-middle, middle-class or poor-peasant peasants living in Bangladesh. All the people of Bengal joined the New Year festival regardless of the villages and towns in the first Baishak. Visit to each other's home, greetings, festivities, various sports and fun-festive fair exhibitions, the first Baishakh day from the other day of the year, becomes completely distinct and glorious. But at one time, the village of Bengal was the center of the festival of Pahela Boishakh, due to economic reasons, it has become very urban, especially in the middle and upper class citizens, this joy-festival has been concentrated in a large part of bourgeois luxury and fashion. To save the Pahela Baishakh from this condition, it is necessary to engage with the people of the greater life-size of the working people. Keeping the circle of religious constraints crossed the first day of the year that has become the patron of our national consciousness, keeping in mind the New Year consciously adding new dimensions.
