Pedagogy and Communication!

It is often said that we are in the century of communications. They invade all spheres of human action, causing overstimulation, group coincidences, standardization, among others. However, we have reflected little on the incidence of this phenomenon in the consciousness, mentality and attitudes of human beings, the ultimate goals of educational work.

The emergence of pictorial, hieroglyphic or symbolic language constitutes the greatest cultural conquest of the human species, since through it it is possible to achieve communication, discussion, understanding and organization of scientific progress. The humanity passed from the oral civilization to the written civilization. The writing, and then the printing, challenge in a more radical way to the time, giving firmness to the acquired knowledge; they also face space, providing greater knowledge disclosure.

Today's civilization has united written communication with oral and auditory communications. Man has almost become master of space and time, thus achieving the timelessness and ubiquity attributed to the gods. But. What has happened or can happen to the human being? In the international field of communications, most of the time he lies incommunicado, anonymous, imprisoned by images that are imposed and passively accepted. Man, by the way, ends up accepting an image of reality. Dialogue, not with the world, but with the symbols and images that mediate it. Although the child and young person today are geniuses in the accumulation of information, and stimuli as a result of the media, they can be alienated and misplaced, in the true sense of knowing, that is, in regard to their imagination , criticality and creativity.
The modern human being finds it more difficult to think, lying down as it is, because of so much imposed stimulation that comes from outside. What assures us, besides that the images are a true reflection of reality, with the media in the hands of political, economic, religious or scientific interests?

All imposed images, which possibly lead to a distortion, interested in reality, make necessary, today more than ever, an education channeled to criticism, restoration, reconquest and evaluation of every object, image or knowledge, in col so that humanity does not perish culturally in the process of monitoring, acceptance or copying; that is, within a vicious circle of cultural alienation that stagnates progress. The educational task before the predominance of the media consists of collaborating in the formation of critical and creative beings that, once received the image, concept or affirmation are able to purify them, restore them and reconquer them to understand their true meaning, starting from principle of correspondence with reality. In this sense, the right pedagogy would be interposed in the following steps; perception, intuition, criticism, creation, self-expression as an effective response to the communication process.
