RE: General thoughts about success on Steemit [advice for new users]

Thanks for sharing. This motivates me a lot as a new user.
I'm going ahead asking you something as you seem to be reliable :)
I'm a marketing student and very passionate about it. Without pondering on it I've chosen my name based on that. I'm not here for the money but to share knowledge and thoughts with others. Now I'm starting to think that my name could be kind of deviating and that people can think that I'm here only for the money and that my comments, especially on non marketing related posts are just a "marketing strategy".
As I can't change my name, do you think that's just paranoia of mine and should just continue being genuinely myself or should I create a new account?

It's a good name. If you are interested in marketing, don't change anything. It will show people what you are about = blogging about marketing.
I'd say a name that reflects your content is better than a usual name, that doesn't ring a bell.
As for your posts, I'd add a "[marketing advice]" or something similar to the names of your posts that discuss marketing specific topics. Make it a series.

So... paranoia :D

Exactly, I just thought that this name would give me authority when talking about marketing related topics. Yet I feel that now I can't really talk about anything else. Thanks for your reply and for sharing your thoughts!
