Ok, I'm convinced this is a good "game" to play for the next 10 days. Now I have to go back and read the rules, lol. This will be a good exercise, thanks.

On a much lighter note, here is my blog post for day 2 https://steemit.com/life/@aboutyourbiz/being-fine-sucks-don-t-be-fine-be-excellent
AWESOME post @aboutyourbiz. I might have gotten on the soap box a little in my comment. LOL
No, you spoke truth. It's a shame how we are so programed for this and people really don't stop and think.
Sometimes I wonder if it's part nurturing on the respondent's side (that we want people to stop worrying about us) and then part not knowing what else to say on the verbalizer's side. It's like social taboo and I don't know why!
I think "keeping it together" comes in to play at times too. You can tell if someone is pushed they will break, and it's not always appropriate to let that happen to them. I have to admit say fine a time or two myself for that reason.
Day 3 https://steemit.com/steemit/@aboutyourbiz/steemit-we-have-a-problem-wtf-is-with-this-organization-2017710t6949274z
Well, after quite a few tears, here is my first post https://steemit.com/life/@aboutyourbiz/flower-in-the-snow-a-suicide-story
Thank you for the warning. I got my tissue and finished reading. Wow... I'm gonna hold onto this darkness for a bit before I shake it off.
I hope by the time you read this you're on to happier times. I don't plan to have such an intense post in the future.
I admit that I love intense posts. I feel like there's a certain amount of bravery to lay our feelings out raw and vulnerable. It's how we connect with people in a very meaningful way.
Can't argue that point, but also didn't want you to stay in a dark place, so was offering a little light in the future. :)
That dark place... we have a love/hate relationship but it's been there my entire life. I can't imagine what life would look like without it. Strange, huh?
I suppose, well, as long as you know where the light switch is huh?
So, this 50 a day commenting thing, yeah hard. I'm not one to talk a whole bunch IRL unless you get me on a roll. I feel like I've been chatty Cathy, the day is almost gone and I haven't even made 25 comments. ~sigh~
No stinkin' thinkin' - YOU CAN DO THIS!
Would you believe that I'm not really IRL social either? It's kind of strange but I can perform in front of people, I can get on livestream, but put me at a social event and I just want to hide in the kitchen and wash someone else's dishes. LOL
You're right about the chatty Cathy part. It's not easy but it does get easier, especially when you get into conversational threads... like this one! :D
I can see your point about a thread like this one. Right now though I have to go looking for things to comment on. Which means I have to be interested in the topic. So I suppose a lot of time is spent reading stuff, or watching a video. I have yet to see much engagement on my own posts, which would be easier.
I tend to think ahead if I can, and just realized if it's taken me all day today, what about when I work, lol I do sneak a peak on my phone when I can, but that's not always possible. I'll keep pluggin away.
Tell you what... If you're awake and want to play - find a post that's interesting and we'll have a conversation over there. LOL We'll get your post count up in NO TIME and see who else joins. It could be an interesting experiment.
That sounds like fun, but I'm getting kinda punchy, been a long draining day. Rain check? For tomorrow maybe?
If so, do I post a link here? What topics interest you? I can find one maybe we both have an interest in. Let me know what you think. (This one makes 32 BTW, only 468 to go. Oy vey)
raincheck definitely.
I need to stop looking at comments and write a post! LOL
I'm open to all topics. You can be as naughty or nice as you want to be. Yeah, post the link here. We'll have some fun with it. And don't stress too much about the post count. It will come. ;)
Okay I have a question. There seems to be a rash of spam comments going around, largely f4f type and they obviously didn't read the post they spam. The rules say we have to respond to every comment. I have been ignoring these spam comments and only responding to real comments previous to this contest. How should we handle these spam comments?
GOOD QUESTION:
You do not have to respond to SPAM comments.
I'd say that was the one exception.
I normally do. Sometimes I leave a helpful tip, or a welcome message. Sometimes it's a plea or a warning too, but no, you do not have to engage those comments.
And just in case you haven't had a chance to read through comments, you are also under NO obligation to follow me or anyone else taking part in this challenge. That's not what this is about.
Thank you for the clarification. And I think I was following you already, but if it was a resteem I thinks you're a gem to find! ;)
GENERIC MESSAGE FOR @aboutyourbiz
I'm getting organized! Please include the link to future challenge posts here. You do not have to copy your previous links if they have already been added to the Daily Diary. Thank you! <3 Meredith
5 down woot! https://steemit.com/steemit/@aboutyourbiz/how-to-put-a-business-on-steemit-the-down-and-dirty-2017712t1094983z
Only 63 more comment today, hahaha only
The last two evenings have been slow to find places to add a valuable comment, hope tonight is better
New post day 4 https://steemit.com/life/@aboutyourbiz/whether-you-think-you-can-or-you-think-you-can-t-you-re-right-2017711t92429374z
All righty! Getting it in early. Woot!
And you've already got 141 posts under your belt. A good strategy is getting 7 posts done and out of the way then focusing on your comments count. Just an idea ;)
Yep, I finished yesterday only 20 short of 150 so 70 is the goal today to get caught up, but we'll see. I've posted my blog from my esteem app yesterday and today. Now that was a challenge.
And that was with the article ready to go just copy and paste from an email.
I've played with esteem a little bit on my phone and I can definitely seeing the value of that, especially if you're on the road. It is cumbersome trying to type on a tiny keyboard and, of course "my friend" auto-spell/correct. GRRRR.
That's some pretty good goal setting @aboutyourbiz - don't forget to take some "ME TIME" :)
I have a love/hate relationship with auto correct.
It's a temporary sacrifice, just so I don't get so far behind I can't finish.
That is a great attitude to keep <3
https://steemit.com/steemit/@aboutyourbiz/steemit-we-have-a-problem-wtf-is-with-this-organization-2017710t6949274z day 3
Indeed, we definitely have a problem with the Steemit UI. I am really hoping that they've got something cool in development but I'm used to it by now...and I started a spreadsheet a long time ago to keep track of my posts. Easy reference for me when I write current posts with references that are so yesterday. :P
I don't know how easy it would be for the author monetization, but it seems it should be easy enough for the organization of our posts and the posts of others we want to refer back to. Steemit is not mainstream user friendly. If they want people to join to use it as a social platform. I don't see my friends on fb coming here, it's more work than they want to put into social media. Social media for them is about staying connected with friends, hence social.
I don't see it replacing fb, youtube for video storage or pinterest. Maybe that's not the point.
