RE: Putting my money where my mouth is - A Community Challenge

in #challenge7 years ago (edited)

Oh dear, how much time do I have left? I'm experiencing technical difficulties. Specifically increasingly regular blue screem mini data dumps...lol...did I just type screem? I'll leave it as is as I think you get a better feel for what I'm currently going through.

I've twice lost my work in the past 3 hrs. Grrrrrr...I'm going to try a different tactic and scratch what I've been working on. I need some clarification on some things. First, how much time is left to get this posted for your diary? Secondly, did you find the wayward editing tool box?

Thirdly, but most important, am I allowed to use my own video and can I have people in it without getting their permission if it was taken in public? Or is a public music fest considered a sponsored event, therefor images or steaming of performers and attending public sole property of the sponsors and the musicians?

~smiles~ I thought you would like that cartoon.

hmmm... okay, on the first question: We are focused on doing 1 to 2 posts per day so if your posts are within the guidelines you can write 2 but only share one a day for this challenge.

Second: the editing tool box? You lost me. Are you talking about the Steemit editor in lieu of markdown?

Third: GOOD QUESTION! While I would think your video is perfectly fine it does beg the question, is it okay if you didn't get permission from the performers or the group. Well... uh... I'm not sure about that. It's not like you've recorded anyone with the intention of reselling the music and the attending public does not generally fall under anyone's copyright (unless you've pilfered snippets from their official music videos). Don't hold me to it, but I think you'll be fine with this. :)
