This is one of my favorite things to do - travel across the country. I’ve done it by car a dozen times and have taken a number of trips of 500 or more miles (each way). One of my trips is back and from from Albuquerque to Las Vegas NV. I pass Twin Arrows every time. I love this old trading post, and know that one day it will probably be gone. Now and then I bring my good camera with me to try to capture the essence of the place. Imagine being in the middle of the desert, small towns Winona and Winslow to the west and east respectively, and slowly having these double arrows come into your vision. Pretty strange, ey? Route 66 was once revered by all drivers.; now it has more of a cult-like following. And since Route 66 starts and stops since much of it is taken over by interstates, we don’t get the experience of those who traveled before. Hats off to your history, Twin Arrows Trading Post (now in the shadow of the Twin Arrows Navajo Casino Resort).
Hope to read more about Route 66 :)
You will - I'm heading back in a bit plus I'm in a photographer's gallery that is right off of Route 66 in Albuquerque. ABQ is a pretty cool town, in my opinion. I'll post some Breaking Bad imagery from ABQ tomorrow.
