Today is the fifteenth day of the #challenge30days initiated by @dragosroua on the life hacks topic. Since I presented you lately some of my health related tips such as The Square Breathing Technique from yesterday I will continue today with another health related trick that I learned many years ago and still use it, especially in winter.
The life hack of today is very useful when having a cold and you have your nose clogged or you can also make a morning habit out of it as a prevention for such situations. For that you only need a glass(of about 200 ml) of warm water, not hot, and a teaspoon of salt. The salt would be better to be Himalayan salt, or any other as "raw" as possible. At the first try you should not fill the teaspoon with salt to see how your nose handles the salty water and increase the quantity gradually.
If you put too much salt in the water you will feel like it's burning your brain when you inhale it. Trust me I've done it.
The technique itself is very simple. Fill the glass with warm water and add the teaspoon of salt. Then mix the salt with the teaspoon until it's completely diluted. After that you will have to inhale some of that water into your nose through one of your nozzles until you feel the taste of it into your mouth. Once you get the salty taste in your mouth, stop the inhalation process and let out the water through your nozzles. Sometimes it might get out even on the other nozzle, as they are connected.
Do the same thing with your other nozzle and repeat the process until you feel your nose clean. Sometimes you might need to use the whole glass and sometimes it will do the job after just a few sniffs. The way you inhale the water is up to you. I, for example, am sticking my nose into the glass, press my other nozzle with a finger to block it from pulling air and inhale the water. Another way would be to transform the palm of your hand into a big spoon and pour water in it and inhale the water from your palm spoon. Both ways you have to block one nozzles so you can inhale properly the water and the technique to be efficient.
The most important thing is to make the water not too salty or not to diluted either so the first times doing it would actually be your tests of the salty water with your nose to see how much salt can it handle. It is better to start with a more diluted salty water and increase gradually the quantity of salt. There is no perfect time of the day to use this life hack, but I've noticed that when I'm doing it in the morning it's more efficient and I feel like my nose is more "capable" than usual throughout the whole day.
Hope you found this tip useful and see you to the next one. Feel free to try it and give some feedback and upvotes if it works for you. Resteems are also welcomed so others can read about it and don't forget that health is wealth.

Good advice! You can also add 1 drop lavender, tea tree or eucalyptus 100% pure essential oil.
Never tried that.
